No great revelations.
Cameron Steel was there , should be fit for the next match and maybe would have fielded this afternoon but thought a fully fit third man was a better option in the run chase. Nigel diagnosed the tissue damage injury

According to Lewis Colly should be back next week and that's why they went for Steel as skipper - give him a chance in a one off game.

Salisbury's registration is somehow between Hampshire & MCC. He was offered a full season loan but turned it doen because he wasn't sure he'd get regular of first team cricket. Lewis implied he would now be happy to sign an extension to the 1 month loan.

They approached Coetzer before the RL50 but couldn't reach an agreement as he'd have missed some games. Lewis said they may have another discussion before the T20 starts but I got the impression he wasn't too keen.

Derbyshire signed MacLeod several weeks ago and just announced it today.

Weighell should be bowling again in the next week or two but I think Lewis said Potts has a stress fracture of the back ( couldn't quite hear exactly what he said.)

Steel said he'd been to a meeting with Colly about the 100 ball competition and left " none the wiser" Lewis also said he thinks it's a bad idea. If it goes ahead however there's going to be a loan system in place to compensate for any players lost to the franchises - Steel said something sarcastic about signing 5 players from Surrey on loan.

Lewis had a dig at FTECB saying the club had complained about the Glamorgan compensation and that he was sick of talking about Graves. Emmerson then said George Dobell will be ok because you can't be guilty of libel for telling the truth. Marty also seemed to say FTECB's lawyers have been after legsidelizzy over her Times articles.

I didn’t think it would be long till they got on her case as after Dobell, she’s their highest profile journalist critic

I was the one asking the questions about Glamorgan and Dobell.

Sounds like it was a productive and positive evening. I must get down to one of these sometime.

Sounds like Salisbury probably won't be here, which is a shame given the probable loss of Carse and Potts for quite a while yet.

I thought Lewis was quite positive about Salisbury staying and Carse and Weighell were bowling for the 2nd today. Just a few overs but that's a sensible precaution.

Carse 5 overs and Weighell 6
and Scott Steell got another 50, so did Carse and Weighell chipped in with a 40

Hope so. I think the recent history has shown that bowling resources were a little light this season.

There's ANOTHER cricket forum?!

He's happy to sign an extension and considering he wants to play first team and is currently on fire, I can see him becoming keen to stay.

With any luck, he'll have First Division cricket to look forward to next season whilst his parent club are relegated to Division Two ;).

Aye but then they'll change the rules in the close season. Not so sure that he has a parent club -he was released by Hampafrica at the end of last season.

Also from Forum

Lewis said Stokes will almost certainly play some T20 games for us before the India test series.

Some of the players involved in the second team T20 games today would feature in the T20 blast.
