Members Forum - 30th July 2025

Yeah he was furious. The question initially started with Collins and Bostock immediately took over because the audience applauded the question. Bostock implied he has spoken to members (seemed to suggest around the ground). I haven't seen him walking around the ground speaking to members, times I've been in the members lounge I haven't seen him. He's basically lied about it and when the audience member asked for a show of hands, not one member raised their hand, to which Bostock said "we have 3000 members" basically arse dropped and he was rattled. Ultimately the club have lied and they have handled this absolutely appallingly yet again. The D-Day comment is as just unbelievable. I worry about Durham with these in charge, no respect for members at all

This is my first year as a member, so apologies in advance, but is the 3000 figure correct? Seems high from what I’ve seen

I get the impression the CC reduction is a fait accompli.
It sounds close. They need at least a 12/6 majority. This was being explained at the beginning of the meeting but the sound from the microphone was very quiet. If they don't get 12 it reverts to status quo.
It was 2900 last year.
The income in the year to Sept 2024 in respect of memberships was £284,975. Not sure how this breaks down. Income from Food and Beverages was £967,412.
Little bits coming back to me....Durham spend about half of what they could on players wages under the salary cap rules. Surrey spend up to the limit.

Basically then membership fees account for <4% of income. Boston's mind works in £s, therefore member's opinions are insignificant. Likewise that a hotel will double income is a claim made with no evidence of research. I can't see a long term future for the club under North and Bostock control.

Bostock "revitalise". He doesn't like the word "reduction"

I don’t like the word luddite. He really is a prick.
Bumble says Somerset should be docked points. Also questions why an investigation into a pitch takes so long.

Why is he even there? I love the bloke on commentary, but there’s serious issues at hand and he’s essentially been invited along to be the fluffer.

3.41%

It was like his claim that there are loads of CC games that mean nothing towards the end of the season. No workings out supplied.

Nothing will happen with Somerset and their doctor pitches. It never does.
Those c*nts are like Teflon

I tend to agree, but let’s face it, even if they’re docked their entire points haul from that fixture, it doesn’t help us.

He was there to please the simpering idiots that would be thrilled to be in the same room as someone famous in the cricket world.

I'd hoped someone might ask who signed off our best(?) batsman to go to South Africa to an awards ceremony and miss a hugely important game.

The inexerable march of the 16.4 is simply going to be ruinous for longer form cricket.

Listened to the ‘Stick to Cricket’ podcast today, they raised the question “Has the Hundred been a success.”

Answering were Bumble, Vaughan, Tuffers and Alastair Cook.

Absolutely no surprise how they answered, given that they’ve all taken the king shilling. Sickening it was.
Dying embers of a great club.

I thought 2016 was rock bottom. :(
Bostock got rattled when the bloke asked the audience to raise their hands if they had been consulted.

His D Day comment was off the scale.

Definite Farage vibes about that one. Doesn’t like transparency and accountability.

In fairness, that might’ve been out of our hands. He’s centrally contracted to SA isn’t he?

The fact that Bostock had to “leave” during the forum, especially after they’ve already voted without consulting the members is a joke in itself. You could tell he was rattled when that bloke at the front asked everyone to raise our hand if we’d been consulted. I’ve only ever seen Bostock at England games and in them forums, nowhere else so he’s obviously bullshitting about chatting to members. Basically he left the forum tonight to avoid the questions in my opinion. Utter joke!

He knows the price of everything and the value of nothing.

I found that meeting to be one of the most depressing moments in 50 years of following Durham from their minor counties days to the present.

Must admit the proposals confuse me. However the timing of this forum last night appears convenient, as it was 2 hours after the vote had to be in. Bostock couldn't wait to leave last night which again in my opinion isn't a good look and tells me he doesn't have much time for members. He's clearly lied about the members consultation and his reaction last night gave that away, I'm amazed he wasn't better prepared for that question. That Collins fella is nothing more than a puppet for Bostock and North though. A very grim meeting last night, one which has me concerned for the future of the club. For the bulk of my time I've always felt valued as a member, I certainly don't feel like that at the moment from the board room level. Nothing against Campbell and the players I must add for the record.
