If Roefs is sold this summer, I think we’ll bring another keeper of a similar age to Mell-borg to compete for the number one spot next season. But within 2-3 seasons I’d expect Matty Young to be our goalie.

All about perceptions marra and mine is slightly different to yours. Maybe it’s the PTSD effect of going from England’s No1 and Vito Mannone in 2017 to the three worst goalkeepers ever assembled by one club at the same time that makes me nervous. I just fear that a shaky start could affect the defence a bit. He’s very young so plenty of time to coach the iffy bits out of his game before throwing him to the wolves.

I’m not having a go at Roefs who has been unbelievable this season. But if Ellborg had come and missed that cross where they hit the bar it would have been used as evidence that he is not good enough. All keepers have off days or make momentary misjudgments. HTL

Roefs just had a terrible game all round, barely saved a thing, long kicks were off etc. Ellborg wouldn't have done much worse
