McGeady and the fans exchange at FT

Probably as frustrated as us lot tbf
I don’t think that’s possible.
It was what started it

Mcgeady decided to pass a ball to no one rather than the easy option of dripping it back to the left back.
I shouted that's f***ing shit mcgeady. He turned and told me to fuck off to which loads of people aimed abuse at him for, especially one guy who at the end called mcgeady over and they had a quick chat and shook hands
I’m not surprised, he’s got to bankroll his massive custom built house in Ireland. No other club will pay him this much. Like most professional footballers he’ll keep kissing the badge until he’s screwed the club for the maximum amount of wedge. Then he’ll fuck off without so much as a backward glance and slag the club off in a book.

The next month he is playing for his future at the club, so now would be the time to find some form, and poor form from supporters if they are giving him continue stick during the game....
Not sure what point you are trying to make. How on earth is he playing for his future at the club, he has a contract that runs for 18 months, we’ve seen before with Rodwell that players get paid regardless of performance or even being willing to play.

As for the fans giving him continuous stick during the game, last night he reacted to the first comment he received.

Players should have more professional pride but it seems to have been a common trait over the years at Sunderland that some can effectively just down tools and get away with it.

Kieron Brady has alluded to it several times that as a club we are far too accepting of poor standards and that this is common knowledge in the game.

But if players aren’t putting it in we should have strong enough characters in the dressing room to confront them and sort it.

Unfortunately this squad doesn’t have any.

I find with Mcgeady that players sit back when he isn't playing thinking 'let him crack on he will win us the game' - it's also the former manager last season at times seeing Mcgeady as the only way to win a game. Was obviously as tactically get the ball to mcgeady and that was it.

When he gets the ball or a Maguire they need runners who are not only creating options for them but space! So obvious a ploy is that players can create space by simply f***ing moving whether that's full backs CF or midfield, football can be an easier game but is made harder by different elements of game management, tactics and sometimes just taking your foot off the pedal

Prime example Messi (ridiculous comparison I know) is that yes he's brilliant on the ball but when he gets it there are always runners or midfielder showing an angle, this generates space for him to do his thing and also moves the tightest of defences at whatever level.

P.s. I don't condone if he told some of the fans to piss off etc i was just making an additional point to what was mentioned about form etc

'frustrated fans reacted and shouted...then he shook hands with the fan'.Doesn't add up.
Agreed. the shithouse who shouted abuse should have stood his ground if he had the bollocks........
tried to edit my post but it wouldn't let me.

Edit: Having read @Safc-Mark's comments, it becomes even less of an issue. Apologies to him - and I'm not McGeady. Pretty much sums up the state of things though. Having said that - if you're (anyone) is going to dish it out - please don't get precious if comes back at you.

Brady was hardly a workhorse mind!

Didn’t Kevin Ball tell a Sunderland fan to fuck off at a recent talk-in?
Was probably a mag at a sunderland event and Bally sussed him . we even get them on here, some regularly.
Take no notice marra

This.

Players think they can come here pick up the very good wages we pay and enjoy some of the best training facilities in the country. Once they are here they dont want to put the effort it.

We can talk about quality but with our wages and facilities the very least our players should be is the most committed and fittest in the the league...they are a million miles from that.

We want the senior players, such as McGeady, to step up and set set good standards. A bit of stick (we have idiots in our support but given the recent form of the players its understandable the supporters aint going to be happy) and he tells the supporters to f**k off. Not acceptable.

We need the management to get a hold of this bunch of players because they are theiving their money from the Club at the moment. They need to have a good look at themselves.

Hence why we needed someone like Pearson

Im not claiming to be ITK but heard something today...... Maguire, McGeady and I think it was McNulty that was mentioned all want away. There was hell on after the game on Tuesday night apparently in the dressing room with the Manager.

I dont know if this has been mentioned on here as Im not reading through all the pages.

Please dont shoot me as never posted something like this before, however I have no reason to not believe him.

There's always this argument that certain players aren't putting it in - history suggests that a lot of them were just shite or a poor collection together as a unit or that it's because we haven't got proper 'leaders' or a proper 'captain' it's just a throwback to a bygone time none of us have never really experienced anyway.

As for players confronting them and sorting it out - they can confront them and maybe they do in the dressing room, but the idea strong characters would sort it out is fanciful. It didn't happen when we had them when Ball was here, didn't happen when Catts and O'shea was here and when Keane was manager he signed more twats than we've had collectively in one summer and he couldn't sort that out despite being regarded as one of the strongest footballing characters around.

Get the right players, balance and manager and manage the problems. We're always quick to blame bad apples or attitudes but it never gets any better when we get rid of them.

Is anyone suprised if they don't? All probably believe their own hype and we aren't winning football matches. I'd be amazed if there's any who really want to stay at the moment. There's a new manager who's been around the lower leagues before and despite everyone assuming he's a soft touch he won't be, even if he's not going to be up to the task. At the moment he's under a bit of fire despite being new into the job, he's unlikely to take recent performances on the chin.

The players liked and respected Ross. You don't have to be a master tactician to see the effect him leaving the club has had. There has been nothing positive since Ross left.

Its written all over the players body language and also the results and 'performances'. Prepare for further cheap replacements to our better players in January and a continuation of a steep and steady decline.

The body language and performances of the players were pathetic in quite a few games under Ross this season as well so that doesn't particularly wash.

Yep a lot of folk seemed to have forgotten the Lincoln performance, first 80 mins at Bolton weren’t great either
