McGeady and the fans exchange at FT

I take it some of you headline readers didn't bother to read the rest of the comments on the Twitter thread in the OP:

"He came over to the guy he aimed it to at the end and apologised and said it was his fault."

"He came over at the end of the game and shook hands with some fans despite people giving him grief, give over"

Ball came over and mcgeady decided to pass it into no one

I shouted that's f***ing shit mcgeady

He turned and told me to fuck off

Fans laid into him but especially one lad who had a good chat with him at the end of the game

The Lad was down there and saw it, reckons Geads said fuck off and a few fans started giving him dogs abuse. A steward came over and said settle down and leave it and one of the Lads quipped up “well he started it!” :D:D
Happened, just in front of me. Someone shouted that’s shite McGeady after he put another dreadful ball through, he turned to crowd and said F off.
One lad took great exception to it and was having a real go when steward came over he did say “well he started it”, even the steward laughed.
The lad called McGeady over at the end and they spoke for about a minute and shook hands, not sure what was said but seemed pleasant enough. McGeady did look worried though as lad was a decent size.

oh and as for him downing tools since Ross left, he’s been dreadful all season

Maybe he was talking to Parky?

Fair play. Are you offended? I might have said the same if I were him to be fair.

Maybe you've provided the spark we all needed.

This was mentioned by some people at the time. Most chose to ignore it though and got what they wanted.

They will never own the shitfest that has resulted though. It will always be someone else's fault and Mr Donald seems to now be front of the queue. Its ironic that Donald has listened to some vocal fans and done what they asked and he now finds himself in the firing line.

I think Donald has been weak in bowing to so called supporter pressure rather than sticking with a young manager they spotted and put trust in.

But they didn't have any trust in him, that's why he got the sack.

And frankly whether Ross was liked or not I couldn't give a shit?
All those clowns who've downed tools are paid wages by the club, not Ross, to play and represent us.
If they're not trying because they've spat the dummy they're the f*cking problem.

Yeah but they're our fuckin' problem...

Correct mate, I was trying to point out the flawed logic that 'we should have kept Ross because the players liked him and now they've downed tools'.

This league is one where any team not giving a 100% will be punished, and we've got the most expensively assembled and well paid bunch of shirkers ever to 'grace' this division going through the motions.

He is probably just as frustrated as the fans, of course he's been poor this season, but the way we're playing and set up we haven't given him a chance to be anything else but poor.

I would agree with that if he had actually completed any passes . For a player who is supposed to be too good for this league , one would think at least he could find a team mate after his obligatory step over.

McGeady was clearly onside with Ross at the helm. If we sell him though, we must replace with Maddison or someone with ability. Not f*****g Northampton Town's top assist maker from last season and this one so far, or some lad who is doing very very well for Scottish First Division outfit Arbroath.
