Mayenda discussion thread

Once he cracks the finishing we’re going to have an amazing player on our hands. Has all the physical attributes as well as the footballing sense to get into those positions in the first place.

Reminds me a bit of when we had Danny Welbeck on loan - missed a lot early in his career but the raw potential is there for all to see.

I don’t think RLB has any option but to keep playing him as that’s the only way he will improve… Pretty obvious he’s going to miss a shedload more between now and the end of the season, is not exactly something you can fix in a week.

Spot-on. That is why I’d try to get someone in to help him and out other young strikers - a Defoe type who has been there and done it and could work on his composure as that’s all it is.

He and Isidor have great chemistry. I can handle the ups-and-downs in front of goal especially as he is setting Isidor up on his! Keep breaking lines and playing the killer ball and the rest will come.

His improvement from last season is immense and a lot of that goes down to the manager and his staff.
His confidence is growing every game and I see a bright future for the lad. Long may it continue.

It’s not about the finish ya berk it’s about the run the touch the pace !! You have to get yourself in them positions. Tell me a better 19 year old striker in this division ?? Or even the prem

Eh 🤣 it's not about the finish 🤣🤣

He's a striker man, of course it's about the finish. I acknowledged he's done well to get in them positions but to me scoring 1 out of 5 gilt edged chances is a very poor return.

Do you think he is happy he only scores that type of ratio?. I bet even Mayenda thinks he should of done better.

When we had Maja he would of scored more of them

He knows he can improve and said himself in interview that he's spending extra time at training working on his finishing. He's a kid learning his trade and doing well overall, you'd think you might appreciate that but being you you'd rather moan.

I've already said I like him but once he's done the hard work and fashioned them chances, he should be scoring more. That's just obvious surely

With more game time, and more experience from those in game moments he should start to put those chances away. Obviously, if he doesn't learn then he never will, but like the entries team they're all young and learning their trade still.

Looks a great prospect all the same.

Certainly would hope so mate

Aye, I dunno why he didn't take that good chance with his left and put it across goal rather than his right.
I do think he will turn out to be a great player though.
Because his touch was poor and took him straight rather than towards goal. He will improve and would be more worried if he weren't getting chances.

I thought It was his touch that forced him onto his right foot.

His touch as he went through v sheff utd was spot on, the one v Blackburn was similar to yesterday.

He’s developing and hopefully his finishing and touch will improve as he has some great attributes…..delighted for him in terms of how he has bounced back after the missed chances v Blackburn and stoke.
