Max Power

Yeah it's really bad when my 11 year old who has special needs has a better grasp on a room then some others do unfortunately.
People don't have to conform to every room though do they?

It's not really a big deal.

Again you make a fair point.

Personal opinion here though, I'd rather stand out for being good in a crowd of miserable rather than standing out for being miserable in a crowd of good.

Utterly bizarre attitude to have and unfortunately does our reputation no favours like.
Reputation? If more of our fans grew a backbone in league one instead of calling 4th tier footballer 'the king', we might have got out of the mess sooner.

Stadium doors should have been getting stormed at Donald's ownership.

I dont hope Power has a miserable day like he said as I want us to win the match.

But he's not one who i look back on fondly. A bit of middle ground for me I reckon .

I probably do because I got to know him and his family personally at least a little bit and he was nothing but kind to me, but I can understand why people don't look back on him fondly as a footballer.

   Exactly my point. Where do we start here? Fans actually supporting the team and its players in league one were the problem? Am I right? Affectionate nicknames a problem? or perhaps realising that just because we employed shite footballers in league one doesn’t mean they deserve random abuse when they were clearly very proud of playing for the football club? Max Power as an example as a very limited footballer and a representation of where we were but why does he deserve abuse for it?

I presume you were out storming the doors when Donald was there were you? We should all be more like you mate. Hope you bump into some ex players to abuse on your travels to prove how uber a fan you are

That 40 yard shot v Lincoln in the last minute was the tip of the iceberg tbh

They’re not. They’re all Liverpool fans.

The family are Tranmere supporters (don't know for certain that Max is, TBF).

I've been out with his Fatha a few times. The main time I can remember was the Barnsley night match. Draw, near the end of the season, we were both fighting for promotion IIRC. I met up with the Fatha in the town centre as I had arrived early from up north and he had arrived early also. Had a couple with just me and him until everyone else rocked up. He was telling me a few stories about when he was a Young'Un. Bit of a Tranmere 'Casual' back in the day, his Da. By all accounts.

I was more than willing to organise against the ownership but not many people actually cared.

Soon as we got in a proper owner we got promoted. What a surprise.

Nothing about that league 1 stint should be looked back on affectionately. It was a disgraceful time in the clubs history.

Yes, that is my opinion.

He was one of many blotches on the arsehole of our history and shouldn't be lauded because some years later he's going to one of our games 40 minutes from his home.
If he wasn't good enough that is the fault of the club for employing him. If you dislike him for other reasons please state them. We've had many worse players but I don't begrudge them their chances to make a career. I'm pleased he is making an effort to get to the game.

Okay so we agree it was a disgraceful time in the clubs history. There was still games and moments that I look back on fondly because whichever division we’re in I’ll always enjoy seeing us win and have good moments. Just because some or most of the players we employed were shite doesn’t mean they shouldn’t ever be welcomed back to the club or in amongst our fans. They did their best and whilst it wasn’t good enough for our football club doesn’t mean they deserve abuse for doing their best which I’m sure many of them did. Most people have the common sense to see they were poor footballers in a poor league which we shouldn’t have been in. Decent blokes for the most part who achieved more in the game than many of us can dream of.

If you’d let people know you were doing it others may have followed.

That owld chestnut.
There's dozens of posts from me about it. Even some in reply to yourself that I've just seen.

Simply suggesting I'm lying is bollocks.

I don't necessarily disagree with that. Players like Winchester came and did his job and left with loads of well wishes etc. Others just dislike other players.

Power is just a symbol of failure, needless red cards and a truly awful footballer. I'm not arsed in the slightest whether you agree.

They are. I mentioned to him earlier when he said Liverpool, but he is probably right as he always seems to be :)

His dad was a bit of a bad lad with the Birkenhead crew.
