Sunderland set to sign Livingston kid Matthew Knox after trial spell
Sunderland are to set to land Livingston striker Matthew Knox after the 18-year-old impressed during a trial spell.
The Lions youngster has spent this week with Chris Coleman’s side and starred in a bounce match on Wednesday which should lead to an offer being made for the player in the next 48 hours.
Knox spent time with Barnsley last week with the Tykes weighing up an offer for the player who’s also had training stints with Manchester United , Rangers and Liverpool over the past 12 months.
Record Sport understands the Scotland under-17 international’s display for the Championship ’s bottom side yesterday has accelerated the prospect of a switch to the Stadium of Light.
