Matchday Park and Stride

SAFCTEES

Midfield
Usually park at Sunniside on matchdays but it seems to be getting worse leaving the city heading towards Hendon/Ryhope/Seaham and then onto the A19.

Took me about 25 minutes to get to the Hendon grange after the match, then I had to queue to get onto the a19 up past the new houses near Ryhope.

Can you street park anywhere just beyond Mowbray Park? Or is it permit holders only. Ideally want to go back and not have my car missing vital parts too.

Any other suggestions that way on? Don’t mind paying for parking either.

I’d rather walk for 25 minutes than be stuck in traffic for that long .

Sorry I don’t know the answer I just want to know how the responses go for when I’m driving up from Ingelby 😅

I’m ashamed to say I left the game early a few weeks ago a as I was at a party down there and would never have made it back in time if I’d stayed til the end 😞

I’m the same mate. Took well over an hour to back to Teesside on Sunday, so annoying . I never leave early though.

Just leave on 80 mins like everyone else
Usually walk to the SEC and leave on the full time whistle which saves 20 minutes at least on the way home.

I would try Tatham Street car park, just down from The Burton House.
I don’t think it’s far enough out of the town mate. Still get stuck in queuing traffic

Sunday seemed particularly bad for some reason. I don't rush out after the match and that usually allows for an easier drive. Was even later on Sunday after visiting club shop, but traffic was worst I had experienced this season.

Your car doesn’t necessarily have to be parked for the Hendon lads to remove stuff, they can strip it while it’s moving. Little known fact but F1 pit crews are trained there.

Never takes me more 20 minutes to get seaham from Tatham street car park. There is a back road that brings you out at the roundabout near Riach Carter mural that cuts quite a bit traffic off

Tatham Street then down Suffolk Street / Corporation Road up to the Blue House roundabout is spot on and cuts loads of traffic out. But have to get there very early now to get parked this season.

If I drive and park in the city, I'd park at the uni, and leave the city via tunstall road and onto the A19. Has always been fine with traffic. Although tbf recently I usually stay back for a drink after the game.

Just go past the old Synagogue and along Ryhope Road.

Reckon I’ll get a space at 6pm tomorrow night?

Just been reading it’s free after 3 midweek too.
Parking outside St Anthony's School in Ashbrooke is good for night matches (can't do it for home games as it's no parking between 2-3pm). It's close to town and about 20-25 mins walk from the ground.
