MATCH THREAD: Durham v Leicester Foxes 🦊

Oh FFS, this nonsense needs to stop. Before anyone gets on their high horse, I’m all for the women’s team having their own autonomy and their own social media.
I think it's fair until the womens team actually launches, to use the reach of the current account to spread the message of the the fact we are going to have a team,

But it is hypocritical to talk about how they are serious about the women's game. Yet can't be bothered to setup a separate twitter account.

im hoping for enough rain today for the bairns U13's to be off but not wet enough for Durham to be off

the whole idea of project darwin was to have the teams under ones banner, but yes they will have to have their own pages, as they sometimes play on the same day, can you imagine the confusion for the live updates
I really cannot be arsed to go tonight
The bairns U13's game looked doubtful because of the rain, but the suns out now, hoping it stays out as if its off we will be down the riverside and i cant be arsed either

I just think it’s disingenuous and shamefully dishonest. It’s the sort of ‘clickbaity’ bullshit I’d expect from the worst of the worst of newspapers in this country, but I’d hope DCCC (and the BBC, who are a disgrace for it) would be better.

Like when the Beeb put a headline on their sports page stating ‘Chelsea sign world class striker’ and it ends up being a women’s player who admittedly >95% of the football watching public will never have heard of.

I’m not a fan of rampant profiteering either and I think there are lots of similarities to that and ‘clickbaitery’. Be honest with people. Don’t try to trick and/or deceive your own supporters. They’re your greatest asset.

Exactly, but then promoting the cricket team(s) through social media (or any media for that matter) has never been DCCC’s strongest suit.

What else you ganna do? Watch the Leader’s Debate on Sky News?

You have to ask yourself: is it worth chewing on from work to get there for 6:30 and stay until getting on for 10pm on a Wednesday night? The team doesn’t play like they want to be there.
The joys of being a sports fan, the highs and lows.
Sure but that doesn't mean it's fun to sit through as a spectator
As long as we're winning I'm happy! It's easier to watch when it's pretty but a win is a win
