This bloke seems to be an automatic choice, but didn't turn up again for about the fourth game in a row he has played in. He is a luxury player we can't afford if teams come and attack us as he doesn't work hard enough for me.

What does he actually do? Never gets subbed and an absolute nonentity during the Euros. Clearly Gareth’s muse. Like England playing with ten men.

Doesn't suit the system Southgate plays so pointless playing him.

Sterling needs dropping as well.

Tonight's game didn't need a Declan Rice in midfield either.

Come again?
Like, we played the most attacking midfield in recent memory and tbh, we needed another box to box or defensive midfielder in there. Rice was overrun at times and the whole set-up was disjointed, too many people trying to do the same thing. Can't understand the take that we should have had another creative player in there - we already had too many.

Thought this was all fairly obvious, but all about opinions.
If we'd had two of Declan Rice and stuck to our usual 4-2-3-1, we'd have won tonight.
Like we did away from home and won 4-0!

We needed pace down the wings which you don't get with Grealish and Sterling doesn't seem to dribble with the ball much now.

Nominated for the ballon d'or ahead lf kimmich and muller 🤣🤣.

Hes a good player. No doubting it but we have better

Gareth loves him because of his workrate

I'm hoping that he convinces me of his worth in the same way that Rice has done.
I didn't think Rice was near international class but i was wrong on that score.
Me anarl.
Mounts neither an attacking midfielder or a defensive one and he certainly isn’t a box to box type ala Robson, Lampard, Platt, Bell, Gascogne etc. I hope he lashes in five in a WC Final to prove me wrong but at this stage of his career I’m mystified as to how he’s owt more than “one for the future”.

Well i think he's supposed to be an attacking midfielder but i've yet to see him make a 'killer' pass. Granted he made a few tackles tonight but i need to see a lot more from him to make me believe he's England class let alone a Ballon D'or contender.
