Mason Mount

He played and won last seasons Champions league final and is thought of as one of the better players for Chelsea who are probably tied favourites with City and Liverpool to win this seasons league title. He also helped get England to the Euro final v Italy and is still only young....I'd say he has something about him (Not saying he wasn't poor tonight, as haven't watched the game)

Nominated for the Balloon d'Or!!!

Don't get me wrong. He's a decent player. He's particularly good playing in defensively minded, transition-based counter attack teams. Like Chelsea.

But, as Euro finals showed, eventually that tactic runs out of road and nobody is going to win that way in f***ing red hot Qatar.

So when it comes to actual creativity, he's ok, but cannot hold a candle to the talent of Foden, or for that matter Grealish. The team should be built around them.

Crow-barring all three on to the pitch is as silly as it looked tonight. Balance all off. It's two from Phillips, Rice, Hendo or Bellingham. But it does have to be two, not one.

There's been some games where he's really impressed me (more so from the left tbh) but a lot of games he seems to contribute very little. He's a good player, he's young, he can be a big part going forward, but at the minute I just don't see him as someone who is as undroppable as Southgate seems to.

Was saying to @Thunder Road earlier, we need to get Bellingham in there at some point and of those three, mount would have to be the one to move aside based on his England form. Don't want him written off mind, obviously a good future ahead of him

Bellingham would have been a better selection than him tonight. Then again. how many of England's amazing array of attacking riches did anything significant?

I hope Maddison will soon find his feet again. I prefer him over Mount. Still, both are class on their good days, Maddison with the better bad days imo.
