Let’s compare Short to Donald and Methven.
Now that really is a bottom of the bill fight…which is where both inept parties left us.
Short was as irresponsible as he was incompetent. That he was loaded simply covered over the cracks, which blinded people then as it does now

His biggest mistake was keeping us in the premier league and wasting money on the merry go round of managers, back room staff and has been players.

Do you think he became a multi billionaire by being led?
The club was nothing but a hobby which he threw pocket money at until he got bored and it was no longer sustainable by which time the incompetent people he had put in charge had wrecked the club.
That was his fault no one else’s.. he failed, he was a failure and he didn’t care enough.
Bob Murray could see straight through him.
We were nothing but a play thing, a view reinforced by the incompetence he had running the club.
 
Most disillusioned I’ve ever felt as a Sunderland fan when he was in charge.

Too stubborn, negative and conservative.

I remember a game where he was screaming, and I mean literally screaming at Seb Larsson for running into the opposition half.

Please note I said disillusioned not outright the worst.

Short was fine at first, then he lost interest......we all know the result of that.

After going to almost every home match (and quite a few away) for 33 years since I was 12. I stopped attending under him. The football was terrible…..

More disillusioned than having Phil Parkinson being in charge losing to Bristol Rovers comfortably and being happy with a point v Gillingham?

And then conveniently got a phantom penalty in the 27th minute of 5 added on at Motherwell so that 'you' didn't have to win by 3 goals to win the title.

Its all a bit embarrassing really isn't it.
