Martin O'Neill

5M he spent on Danny Graham he was shite here and gets a free pass does O’Neil
I like O'Neill. That signing stunk however, the fans didn't want him, he was heavily booed when he played against us for Swansea after he'd been linked. A clear sign from the fans that we did not want him. It was bizarre that they pressed ahead with the transfer regardless, I can't see that happening many other places.

O’Neill only has himself to blame for getting the sack here, mind. No point trying to deflect his shortcomings on the ownership.

We would have stayed up under Oniel man, the idea Di Canio performed a miracle is laughable

I still can’t believe we signed him twice

I know we were shite by the end of his tenure but it really is a shame it didn’t work out, he was a top level manager who loves the club.

Intruiged that everyone in the game seemingly dislikes Ellis. In his (very limited) media interviews he seemed a quiet and calm man. Obviously he was clueless about football and pissed away hundreds of millions leading to our demise, but to be so resoundingly disliked personally is interesting to hear.

everyone in the game? Like who?

Martin O'Neill is a naturally bitter man. He'd probably have issues with Kyril and Speakman in the current model too so I wouldn't take his opinion seriously.

He comes across these days as a bitter old man more interested in maintaining his own reputation than anything else. His time in charge was a massive disappointment and by the end a total shambles. He then had the gall - after Di Canio (himself a total joke of a manager) kept us up - to do a softball interview with one of his media cronies Pat Murphy absolving himself of responsibility for how bad we had become on his watch. It’ll be interesting to see how he does with Celtic because after us his time with Ireland and Forest were really shit.

He was a joke. Playing a game on a Saturday then him but more importantly letting the players have a few days off then come back on a Thursday. Lazy lazy manager who would never be able to manage in the modern game. He football was embarrassingly bad to watch
Hope you have a good agent mate as your rewrite of history is a great work of fiction and there must be a few bob in it for you!

And Man U played their reserves on the Saturday iirc
Would have beat them at OT in the first game if Monty hadn't been injured with 15 minutes to go and in the replay at Roker if Monty hadn't taken a poor goal kick.
He's got a selective memory
Danny Graham was his number one transfer target ffs.
Not the same without John Robertson as his side kick

He gave us a few years of Zenden, Sessegnon, and Malbranque. Can only be so mad at him despite him actually crippling us for nearly a decade after he left.
Keane Signed Steed, Bruce brought in Session and Zenden. Not sure why MoN deserves any plaudits
He spent a lot of money on Fletcher and Johnson..the latter was gifted but clearly a wrong un, who brought shame to the club.
