Can't comment on Sunderland because I don't live there , but NE in general . In my 70+ years , the only time there was significant spending in this region was during the Blair era. Am thinking primarily of Schools and Hospitals. But also there was a lot of fundng to attract new business to the region.
The decline since , has been nothing short of spectacular.
Under the current lot we do lead the country in potholes , I'll give em that.

I will say though, Sunderland seems to have much better prospects now than any time in decades.

He did a great job in a short period of time at QPR. My only concern would be when I watched them, they were fairly direct and we don’t have the players to play that way whatsoever.
