Martí Cifuentes

Hi lads.

I've not read all 27 pages here so apologies if I'm repeating any other sentiment. Just wanted to give you guys an idea of the job this guy did for us last year...

We were awful under Ainsworth at the beginning of the season. Like really awful. Beyond awful really. I really can't describe how bad we were, it was probably the worst I've ever seen us be over a sustained period. We did absolutely nothing offensively in any way whatsoever for weeks / months on end. Funnily enough one of the better performances I saw was at home to you when Colback got sent off and you beat us 3-1. That really was somewhat of a bright spot. That gives you an idea of how bad we were.

Then Cifuentes came in and almost overnight fixed our defense. Then slowly and surely started to find ways to score a goal or two whilst keeping defensively solid. Since Christmas we had sustained periods of playing well, winning points and being genuinely entertaining too. I cannot speak highly enough of what Cifuentes did last year. He basically picked us off the absolutely floor and within weeks had us in top 6 (ish) form for the rest of the season almost immediately. What's even more impressive is we had been rotting for a full 12 months before he arrived. We had turned completely putrid under that abhorrent charlatan Beale (can we share a voodoo doll?) before he scarpered, then neither Critchley nor Ainsworth could stop the rot in any way. We were lost at sea, a complete shambles and had been for a full 12 months.

Marti has never stayed anywhere very long over his career and is clearly very ambitious so might well move on this summer. I'd anticipated him moving to a parachute payment club to be honest but maybe he likes the look of your young lads and thinks he can get you up.

You'd do well to find a QPR fan with a single bad word to say about him, he was absolutely sensational with us last year. We're all desperate for him to stay but personally resigned to us probably having to thank him for the life support and wish him well this summer. If he does come to you, you are in for a treat. The guy is an absolute genius. I think I mean that literally. He will go to the top, I've no doubt about that. After what he did for us last year I'll enjoy seeing him there too. As long as it's not Chelsea obviously.

Good luck this year. Please find a new manager soon that isn't called Marti Cifuentes, I beg you.

Shouldn't worry too much mate. Our owner is tighter than camels ass in a sand storm. We won't pay the compensation and Cifuentes wouldnt want to work under 2 idiots anyway with endless restrictions.

This random stranger has single handedly changed my mind about him.

Get him in!

Dodds ball 8-)

Why is getting him “difficult, drawn out and/or expensive”? He has a release clause, pay the release clause. Not difficult or drawn out. All sources reporting it’s six figures and probably low six figures at that. So not expensive either, we’d spent six figures on a French 14 year old striker this summer.

This
They’ll be dithering no doubt knowing they want him starstruck over the release fee trying to find a way around it
Like u say mate they either want him and they pay it or they don’t
If he’s a difference maker get it done

the model does not in itself preclude the signing of an experienced forward..it precludes paying fees for players over a certain age..but experienced forwards can be younger than that age or not cost fees..
but then theyd cost wages and we dont do wages , well, not at the same rate as can be obtained elsewhere .

Exactly what my QPR mates said to me, but with far less swearing.

The fact that he doesn’t stay anywhere long makes him a perfect fit for us

Even in the unlikely event of us paying compo, he'd still have to go thru the f#cking ridiculous time wasting process of 2 or 3 interviews before he decides he's better off where he is and turns us down.
