Mark Hughes leaves Carlisle Utd

In a way it's commendable, people often say these bigger name managers should go and take charge of a club in the lower leagues battling relegation and then we'll see what they're made of. It could be a good fit, because I've often thought he's at his best as a manager when he's got no money to spend. The biggest disasters of his career were when he had a lot of money but he's done quite well picking up a team as they are and getting them to perform better.

It’s commendable he’s having another go - he doesn’t need the cash & it’s not about starting out in a new career.

Fair to say that he’s had mixed level of success elsewhere but clearly believes in himself.

I’d question whether today’s players will respond to a man-management style that’s prob influenced by Fergie & others from the 80’s but we’ll see.

Given the amount of ex-SAFC lads there I'm hoping it has that desired effect & he turns things around.

Personally thought he was decent at start of his career with Wales and Blackburn but gradually just gone downhill ever since, think he only went to League 2 (never done championship or league one despite all experience in prem) in first place as Bradford was a big job for the level but obviously having got potted there was gonna have to stick to lower leagues if he still wanted to manage

They've thrown alot of cash at staying up and god knows how many players they have in the squad right now. I watched them against Bradford and they were shocking, so no surprise Williamson got the sack. I do hope they stop up, but I'll not hold my breath...
