So to put things into perspective for all the reserve squad/subs bench/goalkeepers and long term saddos. At the moment there's people dieing, many more suffering, the economy has crashed and life is anything but normal. Really no one gives a fuck if your shitty club has or hasn't been taken over or not

take away the word shitty and I wholeheartedly agree.

It'll go through but because of FFP I'd say it will take them a decade to compete at the top. A lot can happen in ten years.

anyone one else rather worried if this goes through and they have some serious cash that this could be us absolutely screwed long term as younger fans in 50/50 towns will all go the way of the mags abit like the keegan years
If it goes through.... and, if they spend the money the fans think will be spent, in terms of keeping up with the elites, then it may have the opposite effect as to what you are thinking.
It just might ignite your club in terms of some other sugar daddy following suit to grab your club for a knock down price and take it back to where you all believe you belong for the size of your city and club, which is where we all believe we belong with the size of our club and the city of Newcastle and surrounding areas.......which is.....the premier league.

Two clubs in the north east capable of going head to head like a Man City and Man Utd are Newcastle United and Sunderland.

I'm not looking forward to a bunch of mercenaries on sick wages, showboating for a short while in Newcastle shirts, before it all goes teets up, which I genuinely believe it will.
Under Ashley we were/are stable if unspectacular. Under this (potential) regime I think there may be a sort of Ellis Short attitude of giving the fans what they crave, or what the owners think they crave and then spending to try and keep that craving....until it all falls flat.

I'd much rather we fight under our own steam and I'm sure some of you lot would.
I've said it before but I believe we have a strong willed owner in Ashley who would not kill this club. Your club could do with someone like him, in my opinion.

It all just depends which way the tide turns as to what knock on effects....or knock off effects come our way as to what may come your way.

Hes a fully grown bloke in his 50s.

Absolute cringeworthy.

I'd take Ashley over Donald anyday.

Man City have endless funds. They should have lost the league to Liverpool this year

Man City could not go and sign Salah Mane or Firminio despite Man City having much more money.

You have to overcome these clubs. It isn't as guaranteed success as you lot think

Aye...I bet many fans would.

I don't think it is.

Big Sam on talksport, would have concerns about the structure of the deal, why are they borrowing money 🤔

Not sure if it's concerning, but I'm interested to see who is actually involved and what their intentions are. I can't really see why a supposedly infinitely wealthy state investment fund would need to give away 20% or messing around with a deal like this, especially if they were going to start throwing the cash around.

Looking forward to the gobshite mp giving Ashley grief at every opportunity highlighting the beheadings in Saudi Arabia, or will zero hour contracts be more of a crime in her book?

Anyway good luck to them, hopefully not too long and we will have shot of donald and co and can look forward with some optimism
