Paperwork in to the premier league now, seems Staveley will be a director this is slightly different to the deal she done with Manchester City

MLS the Australian league and Girona will not be why they invested.

They've invested closer to a billion than 2 billion.
 
If these take over Newcastle and spend serious money to get them challenging the top five, the cups and playing European football regularly then it will be disastrous for SAFC with us being in our current predicament.

We just won't be able to compete. It will be like Oldham against Manchester Utd. They'll attract shit loads of plastics from across the North East and beyond. Judging by comments on social media there is a shit load of neutral fans who have a soft spot for them. Probably because they've had a night out up there and people from outside the area love North Easterners, the accent and our friendliness. To many North East = Newcastle.

The one silver lining if they do become super successful is they'll lose some of their identity as working class Geordies will be priced out of the ground in favour of corporate fans and tourists paying over inflated prices. Mag fans will be labelled plastic glory hunters (just like all City fans are today) from other supporters even if they'd supported them since the 1970s.

Another horrible but possible scenario is that while the above happens we go out of business. I mean we are losing a fortune in League One. We fail to go up the next two seasons and what next? We really could be in shit creek. It would just prove we're cursed if the Mags became the next Man City while we ceased to exist.

I wouldn't be suprised if the takeover falls through though and everyone is bumping this thread and the Mags all dissapear. Wishful thinking probably but we've seen plenty of false dawns.

The Mansours built 10,000 new homes in Manchester, as well as retail and commercial properties , which will finance the club for generations to come. They fast-tracked everything through the council planning channels with the promise of regeneration, jobs, and future prosperity for the city.
If these Saudis are going along the same route, the first thing they'll look at is a new, purpose built stadium complex to encompass their academy, training pitches, ( city have 20) and smaller training stadium alongside. To do this the first thing to go will be St.James' Park, for 2 reasons. 1) they'll need 10 times the space for their new arena complex. 2) They'll have a great bargaining chip to bring the council onside, that is the promise to hand over the current stadium site to its long time owners, Newcastle City Council, with it being one of the most valuable real estate sites in the city centre for new development, it'll be worth many millions to the Council coffers.
So the loyal faithfull can start looking now at available areas for their new home, starting around 5 miles outside the centre for a large enough plot. Gateshead anyone?

Can’t see it falling through. All seems to be going as smoothly as possible unfortunately. Tough times ahead if we don’t get some serious investment which we seemed to have monumentally just fucked up.

Easy. They will build a new stadium out of town, with a monorail running from the old Worswick Street bus station, to connect to the City Centre.

The new ground will be built by Indians and Filipinos and will have a H&S record similar to the V2 program.

St James will become a Mosque for all the converts, with weekly hand amputations and beheadings.

and we have zero chance of a big time owner until we are out of this divisio..there are simply too many less risky and less expensvive options for the really rich in football for them to have to drop down to league one..
