Marc Guiu - Boomerang Transfer confirmed

Will they? We still have 3 loans left so it’s not like we have been hugely inconvenienced by it. On many level this works in our favour. If you are a big club, and Sunderland want to loan one of your rising stars, then you know they are going to a club with a great track record of developing players and giving them minutes, and you also know they are going to a club who won’t be a twat to you if your circumstances change.

There would likely be a quid pro quo in future for us that we don’t have to pay as large of a loan fee as a result of this, not just with Chelsea, but any club as we would be their preferred option of a loan destination to develop their player.

I find it surprising how short sighted a lot of people are being about this, if we bend Chelsea over a barrel for this one deal, we burn out bridges with many clubs over any potential future loans we may need.
Just aswell you're not in charge of our club.
25% of our possible loan signings gone on a player we had for a few weeks
We didn't need to send him back , that's us being reasonable. Letting Chelsea take the piss is another thing.
I assume they would think it reasonable compensating us for f***ing us about on transfer deadline day so now we definitely need another striker - either on loan (so that would be half our loan signing gone - just two left now for the rest of the season) or now we have to buy someone. Or both

Mental that someone would think it reasonable to not be compensated for this and just let him go happily with a big thanks

Whilst it is foolish to judge him from his brief time on the pitch for, he did score a goal (good) but didn't seem sharp (bad) but probably too early to say.

If this new Dutch player hits the ground running, Marc Guiu will not be missed.

Are you expecting us to use up our full loan allocations?
Because if we don’t, then your point about wasting one of our loans isn’t valid, and from what I’ve heard I’m not aware of there being any other loans in the pipeline.

Also, you’re bending what I’ve said to make your position sound better. I didn’t say we thank them, I implied the opposite, they thank us and we gain access to favourable deals from them (and other clubs) in future.

Twisting the knife on Chelsea now really doesn’t make sense for us. All it will do is put other clubs off dealing with us in the future.

Window should close before a ball is kicked.

Our plans are now changed on transfer deadline day

We deffo need another striker - we may get one on loan to replace Guiu. We then have two loans left. Who knows what will happen - maybe Patto gets injured so we need a keeper on loan. Maybe our new striker on loan (if we get one) gets recalled in Jan so we need another striker.
Maybe we need a midfielder in Jan as Dan Neil goes , xhaka and sadiki are injured .
Tabli or adingra aren't working out - Roberts isn't good enough and there is a chance of a top winger to come on loan.
We may not have to use another loan - however No one knows, so not to be compensated for this would be crazy. As someone has alluded to it's around 5 mil - which seems fair. And btw, Chelsea will be expecting to pay something, as they've totally fucked us tbh

Striker is pretty much done according to reports everywhere this morning and its a permanent deal so we are hardly fucked on that front.
We still have 1 more premiership loan we can use if we really needed it

Talbi and Adingra aren't working out? They've got an assist each in a combined 5.25 games 😄.
In fact less than 5 games

Harsh I’ve never been his biggest fan but he’s proven me wrong for the most part, tho I still maintain he’s a poor finisher especially with time, if he doesn’t have to think he’s a bit better, he can definitely make contribution as a sub tho
Yes probably a bit harsh, I agree about him coming off the bench but nowhere near a starter

Chelsea weren't to know this - and it makes it more of a necessity that guiui has gone back.

I'm sure we will be fine, I was just pointing out that we deserve to be compensated - which we have. Just arguing with someone who thinks we shouldn't !

Maybe - hypothetical , to argue the case we may need loans and should be compensated , which we have
Maybe they both get injured and go off the boil and we have a chance of a good loan deal but now have less loan deals cos of Chelsea using one of our loans for a two week loan

When he ends up playing for their reserves when the injured players are back, we are the only team he can join to get some game time on loan this season isnt he?

So could be back in January.

So what are the financials for this, did we get compo for the cancellation, I thought we could keep him if we wanted.

I would bet even with injuries Chelsea will not start him. ever. imo.
