Man City - 115 Charges

I’d imagine @Swindon On Tour will have some strong feelings on the subject! Personally think they deserve to drop a division or two!

Nothing will happen.
We were made an example of being a small Club. Different rules will apply and money talks.
Tottenham were guilty of similar offences and got a fine. As if all Clubs abide by the rules and the sport is sufficiently governed.

If they lose their case it will open them up to civil lawsuits from all the clubs who missed out financially because of their cheating. I would like to see every club band together in a class action and sue them for billions!

I think if Man City are found guilty they should be awarded the 2025 League Cup and Newcastle United get relegated from the Premier League.

Obviously that would be a slightly bizarre turn of events but you never know.
Agree. Think it would be quite harsh punishing them with the trophy for a tournament they tried their best to get knocked out of.

That’d teach them their lesson.

Just been reading and article about the Man City 115 charges case & the fact that the odds of them being relegated have fallen from 16-1 to 12-1 seems to indicate that an announcement will happen soon.

Putting aside us getting retroactively awarded the 2014 League Cup & it taking the shine off those lot up the road, surely this means that it's more important than ever that we go up this season? I'm assuming that City would come down in a 3 with Southampton & probably Leicester and that they'd be promoted again next season, leaving up to half a dozen teams vying for the other automatic space, nevermind the play offs.

Would they also have a points deduction next season too, just like Sheffield United, as anything else would surely just be unfair on those already in the Championship, making promotion next year much harder?

Maybe having 3 + Man City come down and 4 go up this season would be fairer (as long as we're one of the 4).
Should do what the Scottish F A did to Rangers

Kieran Maguire on Price of Football reckons that the PL and EFL, being separate entities for these things, means Citey cant be automatically relegated (like Juve in Calciopoli) but a huge points deduction might lead to it. Cynically, the points deduction might just be such that they dont drop into the bottom three
Can't they be given an 80 point deduction for next season (if found guilty of course)?
