Re: Devastated

Everyone saying "Bit of a gamble" "Dodged a bullet" are not being honest with themselves. Any safc supporter would have loved to have Cisse here, why wouldn't they? If he had been signing for us this morning we would be celebrating just like the mags. Lets just face the facts that they have signed a decent player, and hopefully we were never in for him and already have another target on our radar of similar qualities, maybe even better, than Cisse.

I'm an SAFC supporter and, if he's going to NUFC, I'm quite happy. I watch the bloke regularly and didn't want us to sign him on the basis that I think he'll struggle.

Re: Forget (about) The Mags

FTM.

OK some of you are getting your clarts in a twist re: the mags apparently signing the Cissé fella.

But they're slipping back into their usual policy of signing expensive centre forwards instead of shoreing up the defensive problems.

If Pardew spunks £10M on Cissé he'll have less to sign decent defenders.

Why not have a bit of faith in O'Neill and Short's longer term project instead of focusing and worrying about the boom and bust mentality up the road?

Fair play if they attract a decent player but SAFC have done it before too. It's the team and end result that counts, not fancy dan individuals. Even if NUFC are having a good season, we are inching along instead of sprinting and breaking the occasional proverbial leg.

FTM.

7.5m for two strikers? Is that really a sign of them signing expensive centre forwards?

Re: Forget (about) The Mags

why aren't I allowed to be disappointed that we're missing out on a target that I think would have been good for us?

he could have signed for West Brom and I still would have been disappointed.

In fairness, you did say this before their interest was confirmed

Re: Devastated

Anyway it's confirmed he's signed for them lot up the road, doing a presser shortly.

Also like this tweet, sounds like he's offside a lot. From what everyone has said he sounds like the Bundesliga Bent:

@OptaFranz OptaFranz
45 - Papiss Demba Cisse has been caught offside 45 times in the BL this season - no-one else has been more than 28 times. Early.

It was my first serious one of 2012 too!

We have our first decent manager in decades but there's still plenty to twist on about.

Well done for trying mate, kids are just home from school, it'll calm down

so he scores a shitload of goals then. great.
Anyone whos not a bit gutted about this is lying, if this fella hits the ground running they could well finish 6th, assuming Ba stays as well.
