I'm from Peterlee and we have Mags living around here and there's plenty of them get in the club which makes for canny banter. At the end of the day we are all just football fans. You'll always get the odd (and I mean that literally) arsehole that will try to take things too far, as has been proven on here, but speaking from experience I'd say 99% from both sides are spot on. I wouldn't like to think that Lads fans living in and around Newcastle were getting a hard time just because of who they support, so likewise I wouldn't dream of giving any of the Mags around here any grief, other than good natured, either.

It's only a tiny fraction on either side that feel the need to be abusive and vile to someone just because they support a rival team. The vast majority are able to have a bit banter, or a sensible debate and get on all in good humour. Unfortunately the minority seam to be well represented on this forum.
