Mags Giving Away Tickets

Its mad, they pay a "membership fee" which is meant top get them perks, yet there are so many members they have practically nee chance of getting a ticket.

There's absolutely no point in being a member tbh.

The one thing PIF are bothered about is the valuation and having x thousand members boosts that valuation. If you only have 10k seats and 100k members the probability of getting one ticket out of 19 applications is 28.52%, actually the same as getting two tickets. This assumes the available tickets remains the same each week (and there are not more Dundee school kids coming). If you are a club, seeking to boost your valuation, it's a nice problem to have. Personally I'd rather support a team giving free season tickets to 80 odd year olds.

So is the BBC talking bollock with this?

Looks like tickets were bought rather than " given away"?

Doesn't matter whether they were bought or given away. They've chosen to siphon of tickets from proper fans to give to companies and posh kids.
Its absolutely hilarious seeing how terrified the mags are of upsetting the club and the Saudis.

Won't dare say anything.

Mag ST holder at work said it isn't an issue as they are cooperate tickets that weren't available to normal fans anyway

Never understood slating the mags for their support.

By all means hate your rivals but you can't fault the mags for their support, they have a bigger fanbase than most clubs in the country including Sunderland.
Do they really ? I'm in my 75th year,I know they have good Nbsupport but no different to Sunderland's support. The fact their ground has a slightly higher capacity and in recent times they have enjoyed Premier League membership has given them a higher average support. The post Hall/Keegan era brought their home attendance up from 8000 pre Keegan to what it is now. They benefit from the Tyneside media and press bias and since their change in ownership to the state controlled wealth of Saudi Arabia have no doubt added more interest worldwide.
On the other hand our support has remained equally as loyal despite years of mediocrity and failure over a similar timescale. Our recent success on climbing from the 3rd tier to The Premiership has awoken our support to the point we're considering ground expansion.
Historically Sunderland's official record attendance of 75,000 + on a Wednesday afternoon versus Derby County eclipses their 68,000 versus Chelsea which was boosted by their returning hero Hughie Gallagher playing for the opposition. The biggest crowd I've ever experienced was the infamous game when over 150,000 trying to get into Roker Park in 63/64 for an FA Cup replay versus Manchester Utd on a Wednesday night. The frightening crush that had fatalities was not All Ticket. I failed to get in after being crushed for over 3 hours and I never saw one away fan that afternoon or evening. This has always exemplified to me the 'pull' that Sunderland have . Hopefully under our current ownership and management we can be successful over the long term and grow our fan base at home and worldwide in my lifetime. Viva Mexico. HTL.

Surprise Surprise I was right.

They were bought, not given away......................
They are not giving them away though?????????????

Same people complaining are probably like the ones we had bitching and moaning about us not getting 60,000 wembley tickets despite never going to the SOL.
.
45 x £ 295 is £ 13,275.

If you think a coach from Dundee and 20 odd rooms with evening meal and breakfast costs that much god knows how much you spend on a holiday.

Even if the rooms were 200 quid and they need 25 thats £5k, how much does a coach cost????????

Still it gives some posters a boner

Course they were bought. The issue is like i said earlier, why are they being sold to private schools or event companies when they're charging thousands of fans money to enter a ballot they have a tiny chance of being successful in.

The mags are absolute cowards and will say and do nothing.

The mags have cancelled the tickets

You couldn't make this fucker up.

You couldn't make this fucker up.

A Newcastle spokesman said: "The relevant season tickets have also been cancelled with immediate effect and without refund.

"These tickets will be made available to Newcastle United supporters through the club's existing ticket sale process."
Not sure I believe the quote.

Surely all the seat were together so how would that work if they were from random ST holders chancing it for a few quid?
