Mags Giving Away Tickets

Doesn't every club give away free tickets to schools every game. My local 7th tier club do.

It's very normal I think the school have to apply for them, one game a year allowed. But a couple of hundred are set aside every game I presume.

If there lucky they might get on the application list for all of the non playing kit etc at the end of the season.

Very normal.
All true and I think free tickets for local kids is a good thing

This is slightly different, it seems.

Makes you laugh now that the penny has finally dropped with them that their owners could not care less about them.

Their owners don’t want the hard rock supporters who have been going for years at the matches. Instead they want the tourist who will go to the odd game and pay a fortune for the ticket and then spend a vast amount of money in the club shop.

It couldn’t be further from the truth that ‘they got their club back’.

Giving away tickets free or cheap to schools is an excellent idea in my view when you have empty seats. We did it ourselves, nothing like 10k and not season tickets but it gets the next generation interested and is good for the clubs.

Giving them away when the ground is over-subscribed is the opposite and taking the piss out of their fans. There would rightly be an outcry on here if we pulled a stunt like that.

Normally I'd fully agree, but as its them, with their double standards and simping for a dodgy regime makes me think good enough for them.
Maybe should have thought of that before demanding Ronaldo to clean the boots

Question is why are they doing this? Is it because the Scottish teams aren't in the champions league

Good point, trying to muscle in on the East coast of Scotland fanbase, West coast all in witg Old firm, can see their strategy
Closest champions league game and it's Barcelona to be fair. Man city do stuff like this but to grass roots teams. We blagged one before, I think it was about £120 but no accommodation.

Need to factor in the staff costs and overhead absorption for organising the trip too. The school no doubt has travel insurance to cover it's trips but the premium will be expensive and needs covering. Probably at least 6 or 7 teachers attending who will need paying for this extra time, most of which is during unsocial hours. These will be highly paid folks.

Tickets could easily be free issue from nufc.
I'd be amazed if staff are getting extra pay. School staff have been doing stuff like residential visits for nowt for years
