They SHOULD be OK next season, but only if they spend big. That team as it is now will not fare well in the premier League and will be in with a shout of relegation in my opinion.

And on the subject of Benitez, I'd say he is a decent manager but it is not any great honour to have him.

He hawked himself around the whole premier league for years and would have gone anywhere willing to pay his and his backroom staffs huge salaries.

Good but very expensive. For all this talk of him going elsewhere, there won't be many that would actually pay. It will need to be some crazy club like West Ham.

Even your players were too embarrassed to do lap of honour last night. Just Rafa waddling around the pitch waving at full time.
Waiting for Barnsley game as its normal to do your celebrating after the last game of the season. Still got two games left to win yet!

Thought you's weren't going to celebrate promotion?
Oh we'll celebrate just no open top buses on parade. Should never have got ourselves into this mess in the first place so no need to go overboard.

As Kieron Brady said on tonight's Total Sport, clubs like Sunderland and Newcastle should not celebrate getting promoted from the second tier as they shouldn't have got themselves there in the first place. If they are in it then getting up is job done and anything else is failure.

I agree with him on this, and also with his assessment that the notion going down is canny because you might win a few games is completely defeatist and lacking ambition.

The notion that we are going to have any sort of parade for promotion is mental. We didn't in 2010 and we won't this year either.

we had our fun last season. They're having theres now. Threads like this make us look paranoid.

The media have been all over Brighton in the last week or so too. Doesn't mean they're all Brighton fans and the media hate Palace does it? It's just what happens when teams return to the bright lights of the premier league.

we shouldn't celebrate survival either imo. Easy to get caught up in the moment when it happens but with hindsight, parading around the pitch fistpumping to the fans as if we've won the FA Cup after finishing 17th is crap.

Posts like this sum up why fans up and down the country pissed themselves when yous were relegated. Who the fuck do yous think yous are?

We are NUFC. ....
North East football top dogs (for next season at least)..
By the way... no such word as 'yous'

f***ing hell what an embarrassing thread. What a pathetic little rivalry we havenup here, basically arguing over who is worse :lol:
