Made in Sunderland tifo tonight

Not saying it’s misogyny but the banner was made in Sunderland not played for Sunderland.

People celebrate famous people being from their area all the time despite many of them not developing their craft there or living there once they’ve made it.

She’s always trying to give us a mention on the overlap etc and adores the club. Nowt wrong with having her on that tifo.
Thomas Shelby being the Birmingham poster boy a prime example.

Aye no arguments, to be fair they get critisised rightfully.

Absolutely nobody is suggesting the second part but that still doesn't mean he isn't a mag at heart. You've just gone and blown something out of epic proportion to fit your narrative.

There's plenty players/managers who have worn their rivals shirt with pride - it's called being a professional ie. Leadbitter at Boro, or Mowbray for us. There's also others like Chopra which less said.

Someone 'made in Sunderland' is someone who was born in Sunderland and has succeeded in life or someone who has moved into the area and has made a career in Sunderland and is a now more a Sunderland lad/lass than anyone born in the city. The likes of O'Nien and Gary Bennett fitting that. Rigg ain't either of those, he might be in 10 years time - he might also be the next Colback. Who knows.

You don’t think someone who has been schooled by the club since he was 6 year old has not been made in Sunderland…. He’s more Sunderland than 75% of the fans.
He’s literally been indoctrinated since a child, he has no other identity.
It’s beyond reason to suggest so.

Where's Micky Gray?

Played over 10 years without a testimonial, in Reidy's team which imo was the greatest era few seasons this club has seen post. Also capped for England .

Probably said before but its shocking he's not on that tifo

Honestly, not in the sense of the point of Made in Sunderland. Yeah he was literally trained in Sunderland, but so is anyone who goes to Sunderland Uni technically.

Personally I see Made In Sunderland as promoting someone who was born in the city and done the city proud or alternatively someone who has come from outside the city and done something which made the city proud and made the city their home.

What's Rigg done to make the city (not the club, since it's about the city not the club) proud? We already have 2 academy players on there in Henderson and Pickford. I get your argument though in the literal sense though - just different opinions that's all.

As you say in the literal sense he is made in Sunderland…. His time will come to make us proud on the national stage …. Then the banner might say Pride of Sunderland
