Talksport yesterday, Liverpool supporter rings in, think it was about Wenger, he then calls her (Lynsey) love, darling then love again.

She is furious and cuts him off.

To be fair she hasn't got a clue about football - classic media personality, started on the BBC as a travel reporter, then someone to laugh at Danny Baker's jokes. She is from Newcastle and vaguely supports them and then she's a presenter of a football show. The bloke ringing up was an idiot but I hate when you get so-called personalities popping up with no other expertise than she's willing to do any show. They'll be having Carol Smilie on next.

But harsh on her, she obviously loves football and she's from Whickham, County Durham so not 100% skunk

Exploited a perfect opportunity to get herself a bit more exposure. Old John did the same with Steph the other week on our local sports show but she just took it as was intended (an old fella that was verbally behind the times) and didn't make a sexist thing about it. In fact you could hear Benno and the gang laughing in the studio when he came out with it.

Without looking into at all, she is entitled to do so if she felt he was talking down or in an overly condescending manner surely?

Heard it this morning thought she was a bit over the top personally. I don’t think he intended to patronise her. Some people, in particular the older generation use such phrases and it’s mostly meant in a nice way.

I don’t see what’s so offensive about calling her love? Should he call her mate?
