Just been trying to make sense of the rules for the final day and I'm more confused than when I started! Sorry .... :oops:
 
34 overs left in the day effectively means 31 left unless they skittle us with the last ball of an over. This means their current required run rate is 2.16 if they get all 4 wickets straight away.

That will obviously go up with every ball bowled and every run we score.
 
There's 32 overs left, they can bowl more than 16 in the last hour starting at 5.00, but a minimum of 16 overs must be bowled after 5.00 if I've got the rules right.
 
Had at look at the rules and regulations on the ECB website and it seems that Tea is an immovable feast on the last day. The final hour will begin after 80 overs have been bowled OR after 5pm. So 32 overs remain now, it's possible to squeeze in an extra over or two before 5pm and then also possible to squeeze in more overs in the final hour than 16.

So anyway, here goes. I'd expect should we still be batting when the final hour begins we'll be safe but we'll see. Ha'way lads :cool:

Bang on. The final hour is a minimum of 16 overs.

Spin after Tea, ball still fairly new. Maiden. Then four from Mustard so we're 70-6 with 30.5 overs remaining.

76-6 - 30 overs left.

So if its 3o overs remaining (minimum), we can knock 2 off for the change of innings so its really 28 minus this current over, so its 27 plus whatever extra they can cram into the last hour which won't be much.
 
81-6 - 29 overs remaining.

Awful from England in the Test. I expect England to have to follow on.

Hastings strangled down the leg side. 81-7, 28 overs left.

Coughlin FOUR. 90-7. Minimum of 23 overs left for Yorkshire.

92-7 with 22 overs maximum for a Yorkshire.

This boring southern wanker on commentary trying his hardest to jinx our batsmen.
