LVCC - Notts v Durham

great to see stokes back and firing. good spell from main too, for a team missing half of their first XI we're making a fist of things.

Expect it's unlikely we'll be back on today. Tea has been taken but the full covers are on and it's still raining.

@Martycricket: I think this will be knocked on the head soon. That means @DurhamCricket have lost around 350 overs already in 2014 with 71 gone today!

Close.

With so much time now gone out of the game it probably means we have no chance of victory now. Unless Notts want to try to contrive a result, but as with Sussex, I would think our main priority will be batting bonus points.

Naturally the first target tomorrow is 228. If/when we achieve that it'd take a catastrophe to be beaten.

still time for a result but the weather could be the winner for this game

Forecast for the next two days here at Nottingham is really poor and both sets of supporters have resigned themselves to either none or very little play. It's a shame as it looked like it could've turned into a very good game. The Durham lads I spoke to say the wicket is a good one and once the shine goes off the new ball batting is good with plenty of reward for good shots.

Ben stokes showed yesterday why he's been a massive miss for our first five games, you can't take your eyes off him for a second. He reminds me a lot of Botham with his bowling, you always feel something's going to happen. If he'd played from the start there's a good chance we could have turned a couple of the draws into wins, but I don't think we'll see much of him now, one more 4 day game and he'll probably be away with England.

Arshad and Rushy were both unlucky not to have picked up more wickets than they did yesterday, both caused all sorts of problems for the batsmen all day. Rushy had a blatant caught behind turned down off Read later on, it's the first time I've seen Colly have words with a batsmen in the middle of the wicket before, everyone saw and heard it apart from the umpire.

It was great to see Gavin Main get wickets after a nervous start, his style is similar to Broad, tall and quick with extra bounce, but much less of a dickhead.

Steady rain falling, dark skies all around and really bad forecast, I can't see there being any play at all today.

Its good to see some play but the light isn't so good, the floodlights are on but it still looks dark and murky.

Jennings c Read b Adams 40. Stokes the new man. Muchall still there on 72. 148-3.

170-3 off 40 overs, flying!!! That'd even be deemed a defendable score in the early days of Sunday League cricket!!

Absolutely fantastic by Muchall, 87 off 91 balls! Maybe shut a few up on here!

Its about time he scored consistently in LVCC cricket - this could be the start, he has been in and out the team yes but his record is fairly poor...

You cant knock him at OD level

Yeah was tongue in cheek my post. He has definitely transformed himself in one day cricket though, been in fantastic form for the last year and a half, be a massive bonus if he could replicate it to some degree in the 4 day game.

Some can ;)

It seems his OD record last season went totally unnoticed by some people
