Borthwick dropped one.
Even in the days of half a dozen unathletic relics playing for DCCC we didnt drop as many catches as we have this season.
Halcyon days - Parker, Bainbridge, Larkins, Graveney, Fothergill, Hughes......

Now your talking god those first few years where desperate, then they went the other way from about 1999 to 2004 and played a team full of kids who got battered and any confidence drilled out of him. During those times nobody could have seen what Durham would achieve in the last 7 seasons.Halcyon days - Parker, Bainbridge, Larkins, Graveney, Fothergill, Hughes......
We have the most positive captain in the country who plays to win from the start. Just look at his win record since he took over as our skipper.
.
I agree Muchallsfanboy is a total wind up merchant so please don't link me with him.
I fully accept what you say in your post.
We have certainly been spoilt over the last few years but if we win this game we could be within 9 points of Yorkshire. This division is so tight as it was last year until we put an excellent run together.
I think Yorkshire have by far the strongest overall team but are certainly beatable. We are now reliant on youngsters coming into the team where in previous years they have just filled in. The financial situation has caused this mess but the positive side is its allowed the Academy developed players a chance to develop into 1st team players.
The one negative I feel about DCCC is not ensuring Dale Benkenstein took over from Geoff Cook. They were too short sighted and took the easy option in appointing John Lewis. Benks was the best thing that happened to our club and I certainly feel he was the catalyst in getting the winning mentality into our team. The only sensible thing in appointing Lewis is that he's keeping the position warm for Colly when he decides to end his playing career. Possibly Benks and Colly would struggle to work together as there can only be one King.
My only year as a member was 1992 - loved seeing all the old names, Botham especially but God we were dire! Now your talking god those first few years where desperate, then they went the other way from about 1999 to 2004 and played a team full of kids who got battered and any confidence drilled out of him. Marty said it was borthwick tooWho took the catch yesterday to dismiss Westwood?
I'm sure it looked like Borthwick. Even the announcer said it was him but the scoreboard said it was Muchall.
6 down.
It's a nailed on draw so it doesn't really matter.

5 for hastings. what a signing he has turned out to be, we would be fucked without him after the bad luck we've had with bowler injuries
People would rather mention the no balls that he bowls.
He's a big unit and useful with the bat as well.
Anyone think we can still win this one?
Anyone think we can still win this one?
Wouldn't rule anything out to be honest, it's not too far from the time where they may start and agree on trying to get a result though Collingwood never seems favourable of such things
Tell you what there are some totally negative arseholes on here. You must be ex - test players reading the comments posted. Durham playing for a draw already, please give your heads a shake. We have the most positive captain in the country who plays to win from the start. Just look at his win record since he took over as our skipper.
When the toss was won who on earth wouldn't of put Warwickshire into bat (damp wicket, overcast conditions). Wait until both teams have batted before assuming any results.
Have faith in our players instead of having a go once we hit a sticky patch in the game. Remember the game is over 4 days not 1 or 2 sessions.
