Well, it's almost upon us!

I'll be on the Live Chat at work all day checking the scores!

I don't even dare predict the side but I know Muchall should be nowhere near it.

Lumb, Carberry and Tahir missing for Hants.

Good news. Aye getting quite excited now about the new season. The lads travelled down yesterday and split the journey up. I assume they'll practice at The Rose Bowl sometime this afternoon.

Wanted to go to thr Rose Bowl on Friday, can't afford now so going to The Oval for Surrey v Northants instead as it's nearer home.

Draw.

Stoneman
Div
Muchall
Benkenstein
Stokes
Blackwell
Mustard
Plunkett
Borthwick
Thorp
Harmison

I'd go for.

Harsh on Claydon mind

Hampshire win. Not really convinced by either the bowling or the batting at the minute, plus Hampshire are at home and generally a very decent side.

Stokes is batting number 4 this year.

Hampshire severely weakened by the absence of Lumb, Carberry and Tahir as indicated on this board. Durham look well up for it to me. I'm going to take a win for Durham by 6 wickets.

We'll see.

Good article here about the CC and the financial state of the English game:

Just had a text from Dale; looks like 4 days of good weather is forecast. Result on the cards?

:eek::lol::lol:

I can just imagine the players getting there and thinking "I'll just text Paul".

I think we'll win.

Umpires: D J Millns, R T Robinson
Hampshire: Adams, Dawson, Myburgh, McKenzie, Vince, Pothas (W), Ervine, Cork (C), Jones, Briggs, de Wet
Durham: Di Venuto, Stoneman, Muchall, Stokes, Benkenstein, Blackwell, Mustard (C/W), Borthwick, Plunkett, Thorp, Harmison

Durham to win on the 4th morning.

Put Colly and Onions in that team and it's as good as anything.

Two spinners in April? Dunno what the Rose Bowl pitch is like but I can't imagine anywhere being conducive to spin this early in the season.

Must be a pretty good deck to bat first now, I assumed it was a case of win the toss and bowl at the start of the season.

Four seamers as well though, options everywhere.

For iMike. ;)

Seems a bit of a waste sticking Borthwick in there. I don't really know how he's progressed over the winter but it seems like a huge gamble playing a leg spinner who looked a million miles away from CCD1 standard last year.
