Personally i thought we would struggle this season, but the start has been outstanding. What has stood out to me is how tough and resilient the side have been. In the last two matches both Notts and Surrey had probably better sides than us and home advantage but both proved a bit flakey when the pressure was on. Colly as the leader must take a lot of credit for this and Benks must still be a big influence in the dressing room.
The big plus for the future is the form of the younger local lads. Stoneman and Borthwick have stepped up and if they maintain their form will be very important to the team. Rushworth is showing he is not a one season wonder. I hope Wood retains his place in the side even if Stokes is fit to bowl in a 4 man pace attack. He is the quickest bowler at the club and his ability to reverse swing the older ball is a huge bonus.
