MAXIMUM BATTING POINTS!!!!!!! :shock::shock::shock:

:lol:

Dare we dream of a tricky lead of perhaps 50 and rolling them cheaply and quickly tomorrow - thus setting up a 30 over chase of 180??!!!!

There is no risk to anything of dreaming about that. Might not happen though. I can't imagine the captains will get together to fabricate a final day run chase either.

Going to be an interesting team selection meeting for next weeks championship match against Warwickshire. Not sure they can leave out Richardson after todays knock but they can't really justify playing a batsmen at no8 long term. Would imagine they would want one of either Rushy or Thorp back in the side for a match at the Riverside. If Buckley out bowls Borthwick again tomorrow and maybe takes three or four wickets it would be tough to leave him out. All good for Durham though.

They might stick with Richardson until Breeze is back.

When you have 2 genuine all rounders in the side I think you can justify a pure batsman at 8. It then becomes a case of either a 4th seamer or 2nd
spinner-either way you've got 5 bowlers.

So who is your second spinner Buckley or Borthwick,against Surrey and in this match Buckley has been used as the premier spinner in the side, but Borthwick has scored more runs than all but Stoneman. So who do you leave our for the extra Riverside seamer.

More sense to have smith as specialist 8 batsman? Stokes and Richardson both too low. I cant see how borthwick can keep his current form at 3 so longer term he'll surely drop back down the order but keep him where he is right now.

Great to see the youth in the team performing. Positive draw this week. Rockys form is incredible.

If we had another decent allrounder itd make more sense in this scenario to drop Smith & promote the rest of the batsmen.

It's nice to have selection problems like this. If it's dry I can see us going for 2 spinners at the Riverside-pitch has been pretty flat after the 1st few days at home this season. I think Buckley is seen as the 2nd spinner bowling long economical spells but i can see him being used increasingl as the season progresses. Taunton on a flat pitch is a steep learning curve and he's not done bad in this match so far.

If their lower middle order & tail doesnt wag like the first innings we have a chance here.

Promote Mustard up the order to open.

By my reckoning we have somewhere in the region of 40 to bowl them out. We'd be chasing sub 200 in a session (ish) if that we're the case. 200 to win in 32 overs? After the exploits of Trent Bridge? Cake walk!! :lol:
