Just watched the there, looks to me like Borthwick was unlucky to be given lbw mind. Umpire couldn't wait to get his finger up.

Cheers for the link, I agree, looks like that might have pitched outside leg. Some classy shots in there from him though, it's been a great season for him in the first class cricket. Personally I think you could build an innings around him in t20, it's similar to England in that there are too many top order batsmen plodding along at around or just less than a run a ball.

Richardson must have been gutted getting out like that.

Just hope the weather doesn't thwart us. Forecast for scattered showers all day so it looks like it may be a lottery! Might be lucky and get a full day, might be unlucky and have a washout!

Sunday set fair like so we'll see.

Two hours tomorrow and all day Sunday should be enough to see them off.

Hope so Harry. I think it'll be a tougher task bowling them out second time round mind. We could need a session or so to chase a target too.

Looking bleak at the minute. Sun is trying to break through mind so hopefully we can have a few breaks in the cloud. If we can manage a session or so, either side of a few rain breaks - that could be ideal for us anyway. Full day forecast for tomorrow so still backing us to take 14 wickets!

Day 2 Highlights now available -

Would like to see DCCC give Marty a few bob extra for offering the same service ;)

Dernbach's 'slower ball' and Arshad falling over:lol:

It would be great if Durham could pull together a similar package, maybe this is another benefit of getting 25k for every t20 game.

Hope the weather stays away today

Play to start at 12. 8 overs lost, so play will go on until 6.30pm weather permitting. 88 overs in the day. I'd settle for 64 overs to be fair.

HA'WAY DURHAM!!!![DOUBLEPOST=1377342269][/DOUBLEPOST]Well bowled Rushy!! Nora gone with Rushy's first ball. Flashing a catch to Smudger at Point. 103-7.[DOUBLEPOST=1377342304][/DOUBLEPOST]Edit - Stoneman took the catch and it was Rushy's second ball.[DOUBLEPOST=1377342596][/DOUBLEPOST]Tremlett GONE! 106-8, three for Harrison![DOUBLEPOST=1377343138][/DOUBLEPOST]108-9. Harrison could've had Linley about 3 times, finally he gets him. 4 for Harra.[DOUBLEPOST=1377343340][/DOUBLEPOST]Well bowled Harra! Smashes Dernbach's off peg, 5-31 for Harra. 108 all out. Follow on to come surely. Perfect start, 4 wickets in 22 minutes. Just what the doctor ordered![DOUBLEPOST=1377344623][/DOUBLEPOST]--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Following on - Harrison uproots Harinath's leg stump for 0. Surrey 2-1, trailing by 311.[DOUBLEPOST=1377344844][/DOUBLEPOST]Furthermore - Harrison surely MUST play at Scarborough.

Brilliant for people like me who thought after the Harmison debarcle & Claydon leaving, our seam bowling was threadbare other than rushy/onions.

Harrison bowling Left arm gives us some great variation too.

Benny Arshad gets rid of Burns (13) caught by Borthwick at second slip. Surrey 33-2 trailing by 280.[DOUBLEPOST=1377348931][/DOUBLEPOST]Arshad on a hat-trick! Solanki strangled down the leg-side first ball.

This game could not be going much better for us. 33-2 following on now.

To get 6 wickets already today given that we have lost an hours play is superb. I had all but written off today when I saw the forecast. I thought we would need to take 14 wickets tomorrow and if it chucks it down now we would only need 8.

Edit. Make that 7. 33-3 Arshad on a hat-trick!!!

Certainly don't think we'll get through to Close uninterrupted from here, but like you say TV, 7 wickets tomorrow would certainly have us fancying our chances. Amla has got going now, need to keep chipping away around him![DOUBLEPOST=1377350525][/DOUBLEPOST]Edit - Off for Bad Light.

Bad light ffs its the entertainment business.

All avenues should be explored that ensure play can happen. If that means bowling sides are 'forced' to bowl medium pace or spin, get Colly & Borthwick & Smith on....

If the bowling team are willing to bowl spin; the game has to carry on. If the batting team are willing to stop out no matter who they face; carry on playing.

Colly and Jennings came on, presumably in an attempt to keep the play going but the umpires still came off. They could've bowled spin, but my guess is that with only 16 or so overs in the innings, they didn't want to fuck the ball up and miss out on seam movement by bringing on Borthwick/Smith.[DOUBLEPOST=1377352315][/DOUBLEPOST]I agree with your sentiments though. Especially when by all accounts (going off what Marty was saying) it isn't really too bad. Anyway, playing at Brandon currently after a short rain break so there's presumably some hope of an improvement in conditions at CLS to enable them to come back on.

Jennings bowls a canny few overs for the 2nd XI, no reason why he couldnt go on to be a decent assett with the ball considering the bounce he must surely extract.
