Amazing achievement. We should get a multitude of plaudits for doing so well with so many home grown players. We won't, and the press will focus on how other teams didnt win. Good.

is stokes back for the last game?

wonder who ends up on the a tour this winter. Borthwick must make it. Maybe Rocky? Rushworth have a chance?

thinking about a day trip to hove

Rocky should be there. If he played somewhere like Somerset or Surrey he'd probably have an extra 200 runs to his name.

Great for Durham, but what does that poor bugger Onions have to do to get a call up? Bloody Anderson![DOUBLEPOST=1379190189][/DOUBLEPOST]
Thanks for that, they have changed their tune a bit.

Seems like they've admitted defeat. Nothing is over until it's over though!

1,001 First Class runs this season for Rocky. Well done to him. Fantastic achievement.[DOUBLEPOST=1379169448][/DOUBLEPOST]Any reason why we're down as starting at 10.15 against Notts?? Light issues perhaps? Or just a typographical error??

I know Essex Boy has already answered your query but here is the link from the Durham website with the session times for each day.

It's quite funny that they've messed the session times around so much just to give Notts an extra hour to get down to Lord's on the Friday evening when due to our bowling attack being on fire at the moment we'll probably have this game wrapped up within 3 days and Notts will actually have a day off before their final.:D

Great win today I must say. Receiving text updates from ICBYD while I was at the match was far more exciting than what was going on at the SOL.

Have any of the Southern media got us down us for relegation next season yet?

PS - Well done lads. Bloody Brilliant. As the OP said, its ours to lose now and the Yorkies have it all to do, while we can probably win it now with a couple of draws and some bonus points.

Had the Umps given Root out on any one of the three times he was out at the Riverside, we would now be something like 60 points clear with two games to go.

Still pondering, we only avoided relegation a few weeks ago tbf

Good bit in the Sunday Sun

Collingwood said: “It was going to take something special. We spoke about it in the morning – you’re looking for that one bowling spell, that one-handed diving catch, all the things that happened in the afternoon.

“We knew the pitch was doing enough for us to take a lot of wickets and when you put a team under pressure for a long enough period of time you will get breakthroughs.

“In the first innings we took a lot of wickets in a session and we knew we could do it again. When you’ve got Graham Onions, Chris Rushworth and the youngsters to back them up you know you can take a lot of wickets in clusters.

“(Onions) came in at lunch and felt as though he was bowling a little bit wide.

“He’s a world-class performer who’s very honest. He said he was struggling to control the swing.

“He said he was going to try and hit the stumps a lot more and he went out early and realigned his run-up.”

The rest will soon be Durham history.

The change around from the second Paul Collingwood became captain beggars belief. From a team that couldn't buy a win to one that has won two thirds of its games since. The bloke is a phenomenal captain yet you only ever hear 'we shouldn't have declared then?' 'we should have declared earlier?' 'disgusted that we are we batting so slowly'. The bloke has played the game at the very highest level, has forgotten more about cricket than any of us will ever know and his achievement as captain of this Durham side is truly amazing.
