Luke O'Nien


I remember watching something a few years ago with him talking about his tennis ball keepy ups against the garage wall, and how he just practiced day after day to be better. Hard work paying off for a player who whilst not being the most naturally talented has developed the technique.

As a defender, his passing is excellent and much better than it was when he first joined the club. You can see his teammates have trust in him as well - top man and a great example.
 
I read on Facebook this morning, South Tyneside Parenting, a grandmother had her grandson in the crowd yesterday, and the little lad asked for Likes shirt. His wife brought it out later and the child was overjoyed. Some lad came from behind him, snatched it, and made off!

That’s an absolute twats trick that. Hopefully we can get the little so and so found and get him to hand it back.
 
Thinking back to yesterday, I can think of three or 4 critical contributions he made.

Pass out to Gerty who then set up Le Fee for his thunderbolt shot.

I actually filmed that and sent it to some mates. Can’t find it now though. I’ll keep looking.
