Luke O'Nien

The mags game, he made a mistake, slipped as he went to pass and cost us a goal. He owned that mistake and admitted it afterwards.

What more do you want? Sacrifice his first born? Slate him for every single mistake forever?

Diarra missed an opportunity to win the game today, do we hammer the fuck out of him as well for ever?
Leeds - Only a VAR fuckup saves him from giving away a stonewall penalty.

Port Vale - Nearly lobs his own keeper from about 40 yards before they score from the resulting corner.

Mags - Error leads to goal.

Spurs - Needlessly dives in on Kolo Mouani giving the ref a decision to make. It wasn’t a penalty but he doesn’t need to make that challenge regardless.

Today - At fault for 3 goals.

He’s an absolute bombscare.

He didn't. The 2nd was scored in the first half. Rigg played until an hour.

Did you even watch the game?
Rigg was subbed soon as he looked like he was sleeping was the post.. I agreed that soon as Le Bris noticed this he was taken off.

Maybe read the posts.

Bad game for Luke. Plenty of shite decisions and mistakes elsewhere from other players, but his errors were very noticeable because he didn’t prevent goals. He didn’t have a handle on Watkins at all. The ball has got to get through a whole team of players before it reaches his zone, but he’s really got to do better. Hope he learns from it and improves.

Nope , but like I said the manager will have his reasons and one of them may have been his level of fitness after being out for a few weeks! Happens all the time.
Did you get a pass to training this week or attend meetings with club physio?
As I said fit enough to be on bench, fit enough to start. If a centre half was injured a minute into the game then the person on bench must be fit enough to play the remainder of the match

I'll sit and wait for you to show me one example in history of centre backs constantly swapping during a game.
I take it you don't know the difference between zonal marking and man marking.

When man marking you stick to your man, so yes centre backs will swap.

Shame we didn't sub O'nien after half an hour when it was clear his arse had been ripped out. Might have got summit.
Well thankfully we have a manager who knows better than people on here who think they do.

Yup.

Basic football

Your throwing out football terms you have no idea about

Tell me how centre backs are meant to swap when they're 15 yards apart and the full back has just been beat requiring the centre back to go wide and meet the man?

You expect them to stop and think 'actually Luke is abit shit, so lets pause the game while we swap?

Rubbish we could have moved Nordi inside and brought Hume on or Gertruda ! Happens all the time

Absolutely clueless

 class seeing this nonsense being peddled just to defend him. It just doesn't exist what you two are saying should happen.
No nonsense at all. I mean its cute you believe that you know better than Le Bris it really is :p:D 😅 😅 😅
No manager at the top level will want his centre halves switching areas in defensive phases of play.
Do you even watch Sunderland play?

Ballard does it every game. Its why he's got his reputation.

You haven't answered my question of where the time is coming from in them scenarios? Once the full back is beat, waykins pulls onto o'nien and alderete needs to go wide to meet the man. How do they swap?

Also- WHY PLAY A DEFENDER YOU HAVE TO CHANGE THE WHOLE DEFENSIVE STRUCTURE TO PROTECT?

Not in the middle of a phase of play...

Keeping the shape and defending the zonal areas to limit space is essential.
