Luke O'Nien

Exactly my point obviously you didn’t get it, you can have better players but without a team of players who run through walls you have nothing.
We are 10th in league but probably 8 teams below us have on paper better players, the likes of LON, Hume are not top players but they have the bite and especially Hume is one of the reasons we have the 3rd best defensive records in the league
He was dropped today.

We won.

Neither would get into my first eleven if everyone is fit.

Nordi is a threat for us going forward so can see why RLB went for him over Hume and Geertruida especially at home. ONien has done little wrong as has Hume but I would play Geertruida ahead of them both TBH.

For me onien perfectly good squad player to have he’s capable in the league which he has shown but he’s mentality an character is priceless to the club

I would be jumping at geertruida for 20 million mind lads been very unlucky for me he should have stayed today he was fantastic against Newcastle
He’s not been better than Hume and Mukiele. £20m better spent elsewhere.

I doubt anyone thinks that 09 should be in the first eleven so I'm not sure why you keep hammering that point. He is squad depth and can clearly do a job in multiple roles when called upon. RLB rates him and trusts him to cover where necessary. He owns his mistakes and doesn't hide. The squad likes and respects him and they don't "protect" him on the pitch. Every team needs a few players like that and the views of a handful of "fans" who don't think he's good enough for the PL are completely irrelevant.

Give him a proper run of games hes better than hume for me also played rb cb cm this season good age versatile player 20 million nothing these days
£20m for a squad player is nuts. Unless he’s head and shoulders above Hume, which he just isn’t, it’s a waste of money. He wasn’t even required today. People just see a new shiny player and dismiss someone because they were here in League One.

20 million is next to nothing these days for a dutch international especially someone who is as versatile as he is we havent seen enough of him get a run of games to see how good he can be but what we have seen of him is hes a good player

With our SCR situation, £20m is not “next to nothing” He’s our third best Right Back. He’s not had a run of games because everyone in his positions are better than him.
Will they buy Hume or 09 instead?
Nah. Not really sure why O’Nien is relevant here because Geertruida is not a Centre Back. Hume is a better right back. Mukiele is better than all of them as a RB or CB. Liverpool wanted him purely as they had no fit right backs in January. Quite revealing we were prepared to let him go as well. I like him and he’s decent, but fuck spending £20m on a squad player.

Exactly mate! How much would it cost the club to go out and buy a player that is 100% committed to the club/team and always gives 100% on the pitch? I’m not saying he’s the best player but I know for a Fact that Whatever job he’s given he’ll do it and with a f***ing smile on his face.

You can’t buy that in my opinion

320 mins is roughly 3.5 games.

In that time, one red card, one abysmal goal, handed to the visitors.

He is valued on Transfermarkt at €1m…….🤔🤔🤔
Aye coz transfer market is totally accurate , what about his 2/3 mom ?
You need people in the dressing room to keep others in check and mentor young lads attitudes etc he prob leads training by example etc it’s not just about picking 11 of your best players

This 100% .

Yesterday's opposition had some very good players but there is clearly something wrong with the balance of their team. On paper they just shouldn't be where they are. It shows that you need a combination of the right personalities not just people with the technical skills.
