Behind Enemy Lines
Striker
Makes no sense for him to go anywhere now, both from club and player point of view. One to review in the summer I reckon.

So you honestly think it’s good for him to virtually have a gap year in his career? He had a couple late substitute appearances but he basically hasn’t kicked a ball for 7/8 months and you now think it will be good for him to sit around and not play again till the season starts again competitively this august? Mad decision if soMakes no sense for him to go anywhere now, both from club and player point of view. One to review in the summer I reckon.

Great shout, I can see both 09 and Neill starting tbhHe might start against Everton.
He's only been fit and available for a few games this season, I'm not sure he'll want to give up the possibility of playing more PL games so soon. Also, we'll probably want to keep him as cover - just takes a couple of injuries at the back and he's first choice defensive sub.So you honestly think it’s good for him to virtually have a gap year in his career? Aye in that game .Great shout, I can see both 09 and Neill starting tbh
Don't think that's necessarily true. The club have been good with not standing in players' way, pretty sure thats what happened with Roberts when he went out on loanHe’s under contract though so will have to do what the club want
After the deadline there will only be 14 league games left. Pointless having 3/4 first team players sitting around not even makiny a 20 man match day squad. Ill be very suprised if him and Neil both don’t go around the deadlineHe's only been fit and available for a few games this season, I'm not sure he'll want to give up the possibility of playing more PL games so soon. Luke O'9/11 is what we'd call him if he defected to the magsShould stay IMO, for the testimonial alone.
SAFC vs LO9 11. Imagine seeing Akinfenwa in a Sunderland shirt - incredible.
Never bothered Jack RodwellRegardless of his love for the club he will want to play football and rightly so. Can’t spend another 6 month of a short career been a cheerleader it’s all about playing games

Not for me, makes perfect sense, if we can get any kind of money for him then cash in, not in the team whatsoever so move him on, no sentimental nonsense.Makes no sense for him to go anywhere now, both from club and player point of view. One to review in the summer I reckon.
If he wants to go and play football, I'm pretty certain they'll let him.Thats the club choosing not to stand his in way, if they feel he’s need till end of season he’ll have to stay
He deserves more than being kept around for morale. Still young enough to go and play regularly for a few yearsIt'd be sad to see him move on this month, and I think we'd miss him in the dressing room.
Whatever he decides he's more than earned our blessing.
If O'Nien starts getting games then you know things have gone to deep shit. Hes not at the level and shouldn't be on the field tbh.No way will he move this season, and I don’t think he’ll move next.
He’s under contract on good wages, and has his family settled in the area.
It’s also been his ambition to play in the Prem, and realistically that will only happen with us, unless he wants to gamble on getting promoted with a team like Boro and then gamble again on being kept in the team/squad if it happened.
I’m sure he won’t want it to happen, but he’ll be biding his time and ready to play if we have an injury crisis, key players get sold and not replaced, or if our form goes to shit, all of which are possibilities.
Or maybe it was because both parties are satisfied with the current arrangement?Yep, who knows what the thinking was at the time. Maybe they thought he'd have a bigger role to play, or maybe it was a reward for longevity.
