Luke O'Nien

Don't totally agree with that mind. There was a lot riding on the Liverpool game when we were holding on to a point at the champions. I know he only had a few minutes but still, gestures would be bringing him on today when the games done, or doing it when we're winning comfortably
I mean as in at the time he came on, the risk was as minimal as possible, and to be fair, on paper, certainly at the start of the season Liverpool wasn’t a game anyone would’ve expected us to get anything out of anyway, and if we had lost to late goal, absolutely no-one would’ve pointed any fingers at RLB, anyway. So all things considered, it was a ‘luxury’ we could get away with

So many people on this forum unfairly pounce on negativity like.

Quite a few posters last season said Luke O’Nien would be walking red card in the PL and VAR would hold him accountable to so much more.

6 minutes into his PL career and VAR gives him a red card.

Just because an opinion is negative doesn’t mean it’s wrong.

Easy target mate. Lets ignore the inconsistency and jump on 09.

Will be the same if Neil or Rigg play

No it won’t. It was a poor pass from Le Fee but it’s a slow of thought and really poor tackle. He was on the pitch five minutes and was rightly red carded. That’s not good whichever way it’s dressed up.

Aye, I guess. But when we were 1-1, with city away next then the derby, it became important that we saw the game out. Before the season started you'd see it as an easy one to bring him on for, but I don't think it was a gesture at the time. Presumably he just wanted energy and tenacity and knew Luke would give his all for the last few minutes. This one seemed like more of a "might as well throw O'Nien on" situation. But aye, I get what you're saying

Come AFCON we’re relying on likes of his championship ability 😩. Dropping down table for sure in January. Sorry am just being realistic.
Once AFCON done, get the AFCON players back with depth in squad, then on we will fight harder to stay up and secure the points needed 👍🤞

Ha’way we all knew with his recklessness he would be a car crash in tbe prem. nice bloke but way out of his depth.
Hate to say it but this 100%, loved the fact he got on midweek, his passion was brilliant to see but he’s not what we need at this level, hopefully this is the end of the experiment and let’s get a few better benchwarmers in in January.

Don't agree. There will be loads of games this season (including today) where he could have got a run out if that's all it was

Liverpool will have been for tactical reasons. Likely to do with him sitting compact and having little attacking intention

I like to be positive and the fact he won't be on the bench next week is probably not a bad thing but when 7 players aren't available the week after it might be. Luckily only defender going of note is Reinildo, however we certainly missed him today.
