Luke O'Nien

They're not going to stop. Their minds are made up and every game they find some form of confirmation bias. Had Diarra/Talbi scored we would have been 4-0 in 09 starts this season, but that wouldn't have stopped them. Had 09 been sat for Geertuida or Ballard there is no guarantee that the outcome would have been any different than an L (which is what a lot of people expected anyway playing away to a very good team). Wonder who the scapegoat would have been then???
Do you honestly think if Ballard started they would have got 4 with him largely at fault for 3

Haven't you been slagging off Diarra relentlessly? So that's not negative? Hypocrite.
I said he made the wrong decision and that he’s young and might come good but I do feel that he’s not buying into our work ethic. Am I wrong in saying that?

Check my posting history, you won’t find me in match threads or any threads giving players relentless grief.

Didn’t you ask him to put in a transfer request?

Let’s cut the “mr Sunderland” bull shit. He is absolutely rank at this level. Should have conceded a penalty against Leeds. Gave a goal away against the mags and was at fault for 3 of the goals today. The lad is hopeless ffs
He isnt hopeless at this level as we have seen.....however he can be impulsive and is not the calm head we really need at the back. He was clearly rattled today probably due to the fact we concededed so early and never really recovered because, unlike Newcastle in the derby, Villa never allowed him to regain his composure.
It was a tough afternoon for him and for the good of the team he should be taken out of the starting 11 because it will be clear from here on that the opposition will target him as our weak link

Tough afternoon for the lad. Talk of him being at fault for 3 of the goals. Defo played a part in that, but so did the softness on the wings where the balls were played from

Anyways, a canny game and so nearly one of the best comebacks you will see

Onwards and upwards

First second and fourth conceded goals can all be put down to bad defending from O’Nein. Sure, you can also put Le Fee for the first and Rigg for the second as blame along with him, but those are one off. O’Nein was at fault for 3 goals conceded in one match, that’s not recoverable. Cant’t really blame O’Nein it was a very difficult challenge for him. It’s Regis’s fault for starting him.

Who else was Reggy going to start then?

Because he is suffering awful abuse online.

Bollox man, he is not hopeless, just not up to premier standard.
He stepped in cos we only have two CB's one of which is possibly injury prone.

Watched the highlights a couple of tiimes . Luke lost his man for at least three of the goals. Not his best day but I bet he will be harder on himself than any of us. Shit happens, players have bad days . By far the best watch for the neutrals out of all games this weekend.

If he's not up the premier keague standard then he shouldn't be playing. There is better options on the bench. When we were desperate aye but not now.

Diarra grafts alot. Not sure why his work ethic is coming into question.

Think he's always done well when the game is played in front of him and always struggled when players run in behind him, even when playing in midfield in League One. He had a stinker today with intelligent players running off him. For the first goal, he actually had hold of Watkins at the point Cash had the ball out wide but lost him when Cash played McGinn in and didn't track the run for the cross. Second goal very similar - he had hold him at the point the cross came in, with Watkins in front of him, but lost him when Watkins ran behind him. For the third goal he actually covered the space to block Watkins' run ok but Alderete left Rogers to run in the gaping hole in between them. Fourth goal Abraham runs off him.

If Alderete is injured I'd be fairly comfortable with him starting against Forest still - Wood is much more of a static target and I'd fancy him and Ballard to deal with him. Need the midfield to pick up Gibbs-White though.

Depending on the opposition he's equally capable of an 8/10 or a 3/10 and because of that you're always going to get extreme views. Today wasn't a good day for him.
The first goal he's torn between going to the back post and leaving a huge gap where I think Rogers / mcgin has ran past mukiele - so he's in two minds of covering that.
I honestly think if the cross was played to Rogers in the center of the box, and 09 had totally left that area and been pulled out wide sticking close to Watkins, then the same people would be blasting 09 for not covering the middle of the goal.

The second goal is just a really good goal. That ball is hammered in for the cross. Villa are a very good team. Each goal doesn't have to be anyone's fault.
The third the movement is good.
Just like our third and diarras run through moments later - good movement - I'm sure villa fans wouldn't be slagging off mings and Konsa for those chances.
