Luke O'Nein - The 5 Year Plan

I know it's a joke but half of England's defenders are mags, and our defence (including all of 09s 90mins this season) has been miles better than theirs.

He is a better CB than Dan Burn , currently.

If Dan Burn is in the England squad then so should Luke.

I said it jokingly after the Leeds game but I'm totally serious now.

The thing about Luke is that he works the hardest. He knew last summer making it into the starting 12 was going to be difficult but he didn't strop over it. He worked hard and earned that place. Yes sometimes he does the daft Luke mistakes but every time he makes a mistake he then works twice as hard to put it right.

I said it in another thread. Him and Xhaka today kept having convos on the pitch, you might not have been able to see it on TV but Xhaka clearly has respect for Luke because he let him take the lead several times today. We have two captains on the pitch who are in unison. I think Luke has now earned his place to start every game until the end of the season now.

Same with Riggy funnily enough who Luke has been mentoring last few months. His influence is gold.

O'nien was bossing orders at Xhaka at one point

Did I count 3 crucial interceptions in our box.

If he got MOTM today there wouldn't be a complaint from me.
