Los Angeles Olympics 2028 Cricket?

That rules out the players in the 16.4 then. Won't be risked with the final so close to the beginning of the White Elephant.

8 hour time zone difference it will be late evening or early hours of the morning here, so Uk cricket during the day and Olympics later in the evening

A crap time difference for India and Pakistan too where the IOC would be banking on the biggest number of viewers.

Lot of expats in the North American market. Then you've all got all the fans in the Carribean on a similar time zone.

Why the Major League Cricket exists in the USA and why the USA has got grounds for the 2024 T20 World Cup.

Yup - Microsoft even have a cricket ground at their Redmond HQ as they have so many workers from India.

I'm not sure if many first team players will be released for the Olympics

Apart from fixture clashes with the county season imagine if someone got injured while playing for GB.

My hunch is the counties will only allow reserve or maybe even academy players to take part.

Imagine it will be effectively an U-19 "world cup". Which isn't a bad thing.

But in 5 years I imagine the cricket landscape will be completely different. So hard to predict what type of teams will turn out.

Spot on. If current trends continue I should imagine that pretty much all the top short form players will be signed to one of the IPL-led global franchises. They will decide what sort of teams turn out. Since the July slot is their Major League Cricket slot, it would appear counterproductive for the medium term of that tournament to have anything but a showpiece event at a US olympics, so I suspect that may take a holiday and the Olympic teams will be stronger than many are assuming.
