Lords Redevelopment Part II

Paddy O'Dors

Striker
£61.8m for 1,100 more seats. Works out at £56k a seat. Will take some time to recoup that outlay I'd think, especially if Middlesex move out. Personally think they would have been better levelling both stands and having a continuous one.

That's a disgraceful amount of money for such limited gain and work
I came here specifically to see if it had been mentioned.

WILD isnt it

Some of these contractors take firms eyes out for doing basic jobs, repairs, builds, civil engineering.

I dont want to say it's not that nice a ground, but the stands certainly aren't owt special. I always found it an incredibly underwhelming place to be, given it's prestige

Always preferred the Oval for a day at the cricket. Some of the sightlines at Lords are terrible.

Are the ECB bankrolling this or is government funding involved?

MCC is a private members club and they own it. They're paying most of it.

Been a few times, but the best day I had was when I did the tour.

Been quite a bit, never for the test but for several days of games against durham in whites and two cup finals.

it's not hat it's bad, just given it's global standing, it's nothing special. I'm more the sort who will prefer a quaint small ground than a state of the art one i guess.

Whether Middlesex stay or go is utterly irrelevant to this question I’d have thought as I doubt they were ever going to trouble the scorers when it comes to the 30,001st seat.
