Look North/Tyne Tees Coverage ***Europa League Special***

That's just twisting stuff.
My original reply to you was about the fact that your match ONLY got 73 seconds MORE coverage than Boro's.

Like your match was somehow more newsworthy than ours.
To Boro fans it wasn't - it meant nothing

It seems to have escaped your notice that there were TWO NE teams involved in 'our' match, therefore we would expect double the coverage as a minimum. Then factoring in the fact that it involved two Premier League teams, quite apart from all the controversy surrounding the game, on an off the pitch, the only conclusion can be that you are an absolute arse.

Aye ok.
Come to whatever 'conclusion' you want.

Doesn't matter that Sunderland get more coverage than others, but get slightly less coverage (allegedly) than someone else and it's bias.

Paranoia is putting it mildly.

The difference is shocking and for those that missed it, here's the 2 links (they may expire in 24 hours)

ITV, 1st item for just over 4 mins about the racism and violence, then just before 16mins another 3 and a half mins showing fan interviews etc

BBC, just over 2 minutes long starting around 13:40ish

Not usually one to complain, but that is disgraceful from Look North. Compliant submitted (fat lot of good it will do, but at least it is cathartic )

Not to Boro fans it isn't - it means nothing.
But I've not seen any Boro fans moaning about us having a whole 1 minute and 13 seconds less coverage than another match in the BBC North region.

People on here moaning about Newcastle being seemingly more important than Sunderland (on BBC), and then moaning that Sunderland's match 'only' gets 1 minute 13 whole seconds MORE coverage than another club in the region.

So, the BBC have no right in supposedly 'favouring' Newcastle over Sunderland, but they can favour Sunderland over Boro ???

Hypocrisy
You lot suffer even worse than we do.

And even you, with your smog filled goggles on, are not going to argue that the first T-W derby in nearly a decade shouldn't be afforded more and fairer coverage?
But, Until this season - Newcastle have been in a higher division than Sunderland (and Boro) for a number of years - and people on here have raged about the 'bias' towards Newcastle in those years too.
It's not just football though is it.

And if TTTV can be professional, fair and neutral in their coverage yesterday, what's the reason the Beeb couldn't do the same. Both staffed with experienced, professional journalists, (allegedly) both committed to providing unbiased reporting, both covering the same incidents. Yet the coverage is like day and night.

I'd put money on that if you showed someone outside our region the coverage, without them being able to know who it was broadcasting they'd think the BBC was actually an offical NUFCtv channel. That's how bad it was.
Couldn’t give two fucks about the actual way in which they use glossed over the game and result, it doesn’t surprise me in the slightest

They are mags and have had their delicate superiority complex pricked yet again by little old Sunderland (who they don’t care about 😉)

However the handling of the racism incident is beyond excusable from the producers of the programme and those presenting it….it just defies belief that they would make such a quip when mentioning it as well as giving it virtually zero air time.

They should be ashamed but they won’t be
Agree with all of that.

But.

IMHO The lack of reporting on the racism is symptomatic of their bias.

They just can't bring themselves to have negative stories connected to Newcastle/NUFC.

It's like when they have a story about domestic violence or poverty or drug abuse. Their reporter is always, but ALWAYS, reporting from somewhere else.

"And its over to INSERT NAME who's in Seaham with more on this story!"

Completely removing Newcastle from the story even though in all likelihood Newcastle has bigger issues around the whatever problem is being discussed.
Yes, but that’s at least partly because when Newcastle were in the Championship, they abandoned their ‘Premier League’ first policy!

(Also, (b) not a lot on here care that much about Boro).

I think Boro fans ought to be questioning the coverage they get, as should those of Hartlepool, Carlisle etc etc.
Nailed. It.

And kudos for reminding me about the changes to running order when the mags were relegated too.
