Dont tell me you are surprised by this given the disparity of shopping and eating/drinking facilities that exists between the two cities ?
I am because the eating and drinking facilities in Sunderland are great.
Sunderland city centre isn't great to be fair, especially with the retail offering. Neglected far too long.
It will continue to be neglected if people neglect it in favour of Newcastle.
But it would be pathetic to say people who support Sunderland can’t shop or drink in Newcastle. The disparity is HUGE between economical funding of the two cities and it shows sadly, and anyone should be allowed to shop and spend money where they wish, including in Newcastle city centre.
Clearly they can, they're just doing so in full knowledge of how the locals regard them

and yet Sunderland fans still spend their money socialising, shopping and eating in Newcastle, patronising their businesses and helping the local economy of the same people who hate and look down on them.
Grow up, you complete knacker. Can’t believe people are liking that comment as well 😫

agree with you on the eating and drinking. There isnt a pub anywhere in newcastle as good as the isis.

Retail is fucked everywhere though mind. Eldon Sq and the Metro Ctr have massive empty units all over it.

why?

If someone despised you, and mocked you at every opportunity, you would still go and give them money? only one knacker one here
You won’t go to or spend any money in a different city because of football rivalry?

If an individual upset me, of course I wouldn’t then give them my business but to exclude a full city and everything within it due to football rivalry is absolutely barmy 😂

I don't go to it because I don't need to if I'm honest...Sunderland has everything I need. That said I would go out of my way not to spend money in Newcastle.

You do what you want mate, I do what I want, and I avoid spending money there if I can. Stick your smiley faces up your own and the mags arses

There are plenty of folk in Newcastle, North Tyneside and Northumberland who are MLF. They may shop/drink/eat in any of these areas and they are still MLF. Stupid to think they would have to cross the Tyne to do any of these day-to-day things. Also the rivalry needs to stop at football, there is enough madness in the world without people on this board adding to it.

Remember this thread is about a certain Newcastle football fan who pissed on a certain Newcastle footballer's statue. The fact Bob Stokoe later became our manager in no way diminishes what he did for us, just because he once played for the mags.

Angry Wayne, very angry. What about Sunderland supporters who live/have businesses in Newcastle?

Of course you can do what you want, I’m just passing my opinion that it seems an obsessed approach.

Each to their own BB 👍
I've seen Newcastle prosper at the expense of Sunderland mate...I do my bit to redress the balance. I wish others did the same but of course it's their choice.

The rivalry and vitriol doesn't stop at football though.

Sunderland has moved forward enormously since we severed all QUANGO links with Newcastle.

Can both cities not be shared and visited though as opposed to this one or the other mentality ?
Not a chance I'd sacrifice seeing Grayson Perry exhibitions, Empire shows, gigs at Pop Recs etc just because I support Newcastle.

ah pop recs. Dave Harper was a dyed in the wool mag wasnt he (happy to be corrected if not) ? Sweated blood and tears to raise the profile of the Sunderland music scene.
