Longship pub closed in Hebburn due to fighting- mags got a hiding.

I wanted to show off and get off with lasses.

I was only 50% successful.
Now that's being a rock star! You obviously hadn't sold too many records at that time otherwise your "success" rate would have been higher.

Friday & Saturday nights around these parts also carried a better chance in the places that I was at with a band on......or so I was told by those that had been part of "the turn" ;)
Lived in Hebburn for a few years in the late 90s/early 00s, and had some decent nights in Martha's (think it's a Mambo restaurant now??)
Where a rat would come in the open back door and would be chased out by cooking staff armed with kitchen utensils [as witnessed by a friend]

Aye I miss it too. Was in most Sunday nights. Some canny turns on, well at least they sounded canny after 8 or 9 pints

Definitely.
Cheap pints with pals, family and neighbours etc
On any Sunday, I’d be in the concert room, my da in the bar and my ma in the Kerry lounge.
Great place.
