Longship pub closed in Hebburn due to fighting- mags got a hiding.

Someone told me it's cos York Ave and Bede Burn Road (and streets nearby) were originally supposed to be for Town councillors, businessmen, managers etc and they didn't want the pondlife spoiling things

Thinking about it. can’t think of pubs around valley view, Hill park, Ellison way either ??

My mate lived on Hill Park, his Dar drank in what was a social club on low sima, sure it's a care home these days
Yeah it is, but can’t remember from r life if he what it’s called. My nana lived around the corner so I should remember.
Calf Close, as I was brought up on Primrose we wouldn't want to tarnish our estate with such dross as the Prince :)

Is the Prince calf close ?? I always had the boundary as the old people’s home !

Primrose ends at Roman Road doesn't it?. It could be classed as no mans land mind

A194 was always the boundary as far as I was aware. Calf Close from the roundabout at the bottom of York Ave to the railway bridge near the greyhound....which then becomes Hedworth i.e., the land that time forgot

Yeah definitely, with the fly over taking you onto calf close. King George playing fields separating from low sima.
York avenue garage being the gateway to Luke’s land / hebburn !

Yeah maybe. The prince was always a trek to the Greyhound which was definitely more calf close.
Of course, me being from Hedworth would always maintain it was the more forward thinking of the Jarra Badlands estates !

Aye, my wife was brought up on Hedworth. Walking home to Primrose on an evening when we were kids could be a bit scary.

I learned to run and cycle fast very quickly
