Who are the favs for prem 1, 2, Durham lg (or whatever its called), NEDL?
Im assuming that burnmoor will walk that new league. Prem 2 looks interesting as to how various sides make the percieved step up
Teams that throw money at it will have a short term impact but this is not a sustainable option.
Cricketers these days are very mercenary they will follow the pay master. Things will even out after the first couple of years.
Yes Burnmoor will piss the Durham league
South North/Blaydon for NEPL
Brandon for NEPL2
Agree Bournmoor are going to be strong in the DCL but don't count out Kimblesworth or even Esh Winning if they replace the players they have lost.
The thing that bothers me slightly is if Bournmoor do win the league, will they be promoted. If they turn it down in the first year where will that leave the DCL?
Anybody know if NEPL div2 teams can sign a player who is in Durhams squad.
They CANNOT be promoted. If and only if it is agreed promotion into the NEPL Division 1 can only happen at the end of the 2014 season. The NEPL & DCL have not agreed to any Promotion as yet. There are still quite a few issues to be sorted.
Do I detect a disgruntled Senior League official/player?

To keep things moving forward I'd like to see any team that refuses promotion after finishing top of their league relegated to the lowest possible division. The reason the pyramid system fell apart in the first place was the refusal of teams to progress up the leagues.
Don't agree with this
If a team feels that is their limit and don't want to risk over extending that's up them. There are plenty more ambitious clubs let them try and overtake them
Why should one or two "big fish" clubs spoil it for everyone else? Clubs need to adapt if we don't want a situation in the future where local cricket has to be overhauled again due to some clubs stubborness.
Like it not, it's either all or none or the whole thing falls apart again and I'd hate to see more leagues die because of one or two clubs stamping their feet.

I believe Promotion / Relegation will become compulsory once the new set up is established (this may take 3 to 4 years to happen). The only thing that will prevent promotion will be the standard of the facilities not being acceptable to League you will move to. This is something which will be sorted when the NEPL & DCL meet to discuss this.
The powers that be fully understand that having the right to refuse Promotion was one of the main reasons why the Pyramid System failed (as well as the DSCL refusing to relegate a club).
The people at Durham Cricket Board will ensure that recreational cricket in Durham moves forward in a positive mode that will hopefully thrive over the coming years.
this is a new start at silky hopefully i can juggle around the raw talent ive seen at nets and get the lads performing to their best ..
recon ive 4 or 5 real good youngans who just need motivating in the right way ..
along with the regulars and me with andrew robson we can hold our own but more important enjoy a game of cricket on a sat afternoon win lose or draw they can come off pitch sayiing to themselves well i gave it a real go today and enjoyed it ..
its all about compleating in sport thats my veiw anyway if you win thats great but every team in the new league cant win every game if they do well good luck they deserve to win leagues ...
